great location

Posted 23-Apr-2014
Pros: excellent location, very friendly staff
Cons: The easiest thing to improve would be to replace the mattress - the springs were fairly pointy.
Location: Multiple museums, multiple theatres, four blocks from Gray Line Tours - far more things to do than time to do them.
The hotel, with its central location, is a few minutes walk from the theatre district and Times Square. Dozens of other attractions are within 30-60 minutes walking distance. Despite the location near major thoroughfares, traffic noise was not particularly intrusive in the room. Overall, it was a good stay. On the negative side, New York City is a very expensive place to stay in general. Given that, the cost of the room wasn't out of line. We were surprised by the (lack of) size of the room - not for the claustrophobic. And you pretty much had to step out of the bathroom to dry off after a shower.

Nice hotel, great location

Posted 21-Apr-2014
We stayed in a twin room which was a good size. Even through the hotel was full we never heard another guest during the night. Slept well...beds were comfortable. All I would say is it could be useful to have a mirror in the bedroom to help get ready in the morning. Lol!

Great location in midtown Manhattan

Posted 17-Apr-2014
Pros: Newly renovated rooms.
Cons: The windows didn't really shield from outside noise.
Location: Short walk to Times Square and the touristy area. Short walk to Columbus Circle and Central Park.
Really small rooms but newly renovated. The only problem was that when they renovated they did not fix the windows, and basically the noise is as if the window were open, really noisy from the street (not the first time I encounter this situation in NYC, by the way). The building seems to be quite old, but it's well-maintained. The staff were very nice and helpful. The free WiFi was a bit iffy for the connection. Overall I would recommend this stay for singles and couples.

Perfect All Rounder

Absolutely fantastic value. Great location, Clean, neat & tidy. Staff are very friendly and warming. New York rooms are small, however hygiene is crucial for me and this place was excellent. Brilliant for any tourist who wants someone to go for a good night sleep.

Clean hotel overall. Had a room on the first floor. Not an issue in the night but you can hear the elevator door close all the time during the day. Luckily we weren't in the room during the day a lot so it worked out.

Great Location

Posted 08-Apr-2014
Pros: Location.
Location: Walking distance to Time Square, Central Park, Eating, Shopping and Subway
Great location, walking distance to Time Square, Central Park, and Subway. Very small rooms, we didn't stay in room much so it didn't matter much to us. Internet only worked one day out of the 5 that we were there. So if you are looking for free WIFI this may not work for you. Bed was not the most comfortable but it was big. Room had shower only, no tub. Closet but no dresser drawers. Does have a desk and two nightstands with lamps. We were able to print boarding passes in the lobby which was nice. There was also a sushi restaurant attached, we didn't eat there. Lots to do in walking distance though, if you get any Gray Line activities, their main office is within walking distance, just a couple minutes away.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, small rooms.

We had a lovely time. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. The only thing that could have been better is to have more closet space to put our belongings and more floor space.

Great location; but rooms average

Posted 02-Apr-2014
Great location for walking around New York and not bad for a few nights break. However the rooms look nothing like those in the pictures - even after paying for an upgrade! Bathroom was nice but everything else could do with modernising! Reception was again nice but again everything beyond that could do with some TLC!

Hotel on 51st

Posted 25-Mar-2014
Pros: The locality, it was within easy reach of Central Park, Times Square, Metro, bus services and shops.
Cons: The noise coming into the bedrooms from the air conditioning units outside was annoying and loud. The view were not very pleasant and disappointing.
Location: The location was very good. We were on 318 West on 51st street it was an ideal location only 10 minute walk to Times Square.
Check in was simple and everyone was welcoming. My delux twin room was rather small, so were the single beds in fact my feet hung out of the bottom and I'm only 5ft 6" tall! The bathroom was clean and well equipped, the hairdryer and safe were in good working order. I enjoyed my stay there and would return again.
