Near everything, clean, comfortable but noisy.

Posted 28-Aug-2014
Pros: Proximity to Theater District. Nice clean small room.
Cons: Insonorisation.
Location: Theater district!
Small room but with everything I need. The AC is directly in the window and let noise go through. I was on 2nd floor and could hear people talking in the street as if I was there.

A nice hotel near Central Park and Times Square

Posted 28-Aug-2014
Pros: The staff, the room and the hotel´s quiet charm.
Cons: It had been nice with a fridge.
A location of the hotel was terrific, next to 8th Avenue and Hell´s Kitchen! A metro was a few hundreds meters away. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful, room was big and double beds comfortable.

Nice, affordable and located close to Times Square

Posted 23-Aug-2014
Pros: Very clean and well kept.
Location: It's near Times Square and all the action of Midtown NYC. Also a quick walk from several key subway stops.
I was looking for a nice hotel in the Times Square area that was less expensive than the rest of the hotels in the area. This hotel fit the bill! And it turned out to be a little nicer than I thought it would be.

great location and easy access to metro!

Posted 23-Aug-2014
Pros: Quick service and cleanness.
Location: Extremely close to a metro station at 50th Street (cross street is 8th Avenue), and also another metro station at 6th Ave (cross street is 49th Street
The standard room that I stayed at was small but was still able to fit 2 twin beds so that was fine. I requested to have a standard room in the back so there won't be any noise coming from the streets. Turns out that was a great decision because sometimes during the night the 51st street gets busy due to taxis coming and going. The room was clean, towels were provided, and shower items are provided too (body lotion, shower cap, shower gel, etc.) The staff were nice, some of them weren't talkative but that's fine, as long as they're professional and serious about helping their guests quickly, it's ok that I can barely strike a conversation with them.

Gracious Hotel with Excellent Service

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Pros: Central location between Times Square and Columbus Circle; cleanliness; warmth and helpfulness of staff and management.
Cons: Internet connection. I think that my experience prompted them to establish two bandwidth packages based on need, so this should no longer be an issue.
Location: The Theater District and Times Square are just to the South, while Columbus Circle and Central Park are an equal distance the other way.
I stayed at the hotel for 4 days and had to work from my room one of those days. As this is mostly a tourist hotel, the internet connection was not the best. Because of my situation, management quickly called a technician to make arrangements to provide a proper connection. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased at how they went beyond the call of duty to accommodate my need. Overall, the hotel is tidy (rooms are a bit small but not unusual for an older New York building. The premises were extremely clean, and the staff and management, as explained before, was friendly, pleasant and incredibly helpful.

Nice for solo travelers and wonderful location

Posted 19-Aug-2014
The location is wonderful for those wanting to go to Broadway shows or visit Times Square for shopping. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of central park and many of the flagship stores located along 5th Avenue. Grand Central, Rockefeller Plaza, MOMA, and many other sites are also within easy walking distance. The area also feels safe even at night. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the hotel staff. My return flight to Canada was cancelled by the airline and the concierge was extremely helpful in assisting me in rearranging my shuttle to the airport and flight plans.

Mini stay

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Room was clean and up dated. No business center so printing tickets for shows, etc., was complicated. No complimentary breakfast, and ice was upon request. Staff were very accommodating and pleasant.

Decent for the price.

The rooms were very small even for NYC. The location was good though and the rooms were clean and in good shape. There are not a lot of extras here - no refridgerator, etc. so be aware that it is basically just a place to sleep.
