“Lovely, comfortable stay. Would stay there again.”
Hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. Staff were more than happy to help and went above expectations.
“Good location for Times Square”
The room was quite small and as this was billed as a twin deluxe, was slightly disappointed on the value for money. Room was clean and was serviced every day. As long as you are using the room for sleeping only then it is in a great location for access to Times Square and the theatre area of New York.
“Great Hotel For The Price”
We just finished a 5-night stay the WJ. This isn't the St. Regis or the Four Seasons, but it also isn't priced like them. So realize that the price comes with some trade-offs. But, in my opinion, none that weren't worth it. First, the location is great - we could walk just about everywhere. And while I like staying in Midtown, I personally prefer being away from 7th Ave and Broadway. Too noisy and too many people. 51st between 8th & 9th is perfectly close but still convenient and in easy walking distance to two subway stations and much quieter. Okay, the rooms are small - but this is New York and that's typical. But it was clean and nicely appointed. I recommend the "Deluxe" room - we had a king bed, nice linens and enough closet space. Free wireless internet - you won't get that everywhere. The elevator is a little funky - think of a typical European hotel with a single small elevator. But I don't pick hotels based on elevators. There isn't a bar or a restaurant or room service - but there's a great little bar two doors down the street (The House of Brews) and a couple of very nice little restaurants right across the street - and literally dozens within easy walking distance. The staff was pleasant and very helpful when we needed them. Our room was properly cleaned every day with fresh towels and bathroom supplies. The air conditioning is supplied by a window unit that worked just fine. There was even an iPod docking station/clock unit. Overall - Very satisfied.
“Great hotel in GREAT location”
The staff at this hotel could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The rooms are small, but how much time are you planning on spending in your room in NYC? The rooms are nice, it is not a luxury hotel, but the beds are comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the shower was warm and all our needs were met. We only spent one night. We had 2 twin beds that were clean and just fit in the room. Again, the most impressive part was how friendly the staff was. We were very cold in our room and called the front desk. The sent someone immediately with a heater, however we discovered the prior guest had left the window open and that is why the room was cold. I chose this hotel because it was only 2 blocks from our destination, but it was close to Rockefeller Center as well. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location, staff and clean, decent accommodations.
“Can't wait to go back”
Excellent place and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very clean and convenient which is very important to me. Service staff were very kind and wonderful!
“Small but pleasant”
This is possibly the smallest hotel room I have ever satyed in, but to be fair, I booked a 'Petite' room. The room itself had everything I needed and a nice mordern feel to it. There was a bit of noise from other rooms doors banging - perhaps they should consider something to stop the doors banging? but in general, location was good and staff were helpful.
“Great Little Place”
Ok, the rooms are tiny, but if you're willing to deal with that (how much room do you actually need anyway?) and don't have £1000s to throw away visiting this very expensive city, then this hotel is perfect. On nearly every front it's comparable to its more more expensive neighbours. The location is excellent - Times Sq a five minute walk away, excellent restaurants and fast food places two minutes away, a subway station nearby, and it's on a quiet street (for Manhattan). The service is great - lovely staff, very helpful. The room standard is great - nice fixtures and furniture, a/c, clean, in good condition. What they scrimp on to get you the comparitively low price is the square footage, but I'd rather cut down on that than cleanliness or condition. Wouldn't you? I'll be staying here again if I ever return to NY.
“"Rooms are small but comfy"”
Hotel is in a central location for what we wanted to see; we are walkers so we would walk 15-25+ blocks to the Morgan Library, the MOMA and the Theater District; Rooms are quite small, but all we did was sleep and shower so we don't have any complaints;
“Small but very nice”
Room was tiny, but clean. Customer service was fantastic!
“Very small and noisy”
The comments in the page were true about the rooms being very small, but when I arrived it was beyond small. If you are a person of more than 180 pounds you definitely wont fit in the bathroom. It is like an airplane bathroom. Also, at least in my room, there was a noise like a pipe or something that went on from 7 am every day and it was really hard. It lasted like 10 minutes and then back again during the day. The rest, its fine. Good attention, good location and clean.
