“Luxury in New York City”

From the moment we were greeted by Carla at reception, we knew that we selected the right hotel. The staff and service at the hotel are world class. We had a short stay but were impressed by the staff, the comfort of the room and were very happy with the location. Several people comment on the dated look. I think that's part of the charm. Rooms are well maintained, show some signs of wear but are very clean. The breakfast buffet was also very nice. A nice selection for a continental breakfast that is a perfect start to an active day in New York City. Staff at the breakfast room were also very cordial and helpful.

“wonderful experience”

Treated like queens and enjoyed ever minute of it. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Could not ask for better service. The food was great and Hotel was beautiful at Christmas.

“excellent service”

After an initial problem with two of our three suites the waldorf astoria excelled themselves by upgrading us to some huge luxury suites and throwing in some bottles of wine how is that for customer service . All i can say is thank you very much and when i return to New York i will be staying at the waldorf.

“Waldorf=Astoria--Always Superb”

I have stayed in the Waldorf=Astoria three times in the last few years, most recently in the summer of 2010; two of those visits were in the Waldorf Towers. I cannot say enough about the W=A. Always clean, comfortable, elegant...and the rooms are LARGE, especially for NYC. Yes, it can be pricey, but look at what you're getting for the money. Also, it's in a great mid-town location.

Area recommendations

What area/neighborhood in NYC? All I know about is Manhattan...and I would recommend every square inch! Yes, I AM a gushing, overly-enthusiastic tourist from North Carolina...what can I say? OK, so I haven't really seen every square inch, but for recommendations, the answer is simple: go to places only NYC has. In other words, don't eat at the same chain restaurants you have in your hometown, walk a lot, smell the air (yes, I like it), ride the bus and the subway, go into small shops and above all, keep an open mind...don't believe what you see in the movies and police shows.

When to go

Summer--hot and humid...but that's a good thing--fewer crowds and you can walk at night without freezing to death!

“Excellent experience, as always.”

Excellent hotel in an ideal NYC location. Found an amazing rate for a two bedroom suite on Expedia, and was astounded by the size of the room--likely bigger that=n the average apartment in town. Would definitely recommend this hotel to all, and will return here whenever visit the city for business or pleasure.

“Superb location for engagement”

Even though I booked the basic room in the Waldorf Towers, our room was incredibly large, with seperate walk in wardrope between the main bedroom and the bathroom. It had an excellent view of New York, and the bathroom facilities were excellent. There was an interconnecting door to the room next to us, and unfortunately there appeared to be a party there one night/morning, but this was handled well by the hotel.

“Loved it!!!!”

Location was great! About 2 blocks from Rockafeller Center and within walking distance of Times Square and the shows--also upscale shopping on 5th Avenue. About 3 blocks from the American Girl Store.

“Great”

This was a girls weekend trip (mom and three daughters)and we had a great experience at the Waldorf Towers. We had a corner room with great views and the room was spacious. The location is close to everything we wanted to see. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful.
