“One of the greats in New York”
There is something about this hotel that draws me to it every time we visit New York. Its charm and elegance it's the grand old lady of the city From check in to check out nothing is to much bother for them,we visited at Christmas and the hotel decorations were second to none.We used Sir Harry's bar for the occasional drink laid back and relaxing, and the Peacock bar for cocktail's around $20 each. The Bull and Bear was extremely busy so we never indulged our self's in that location. The only fault that i can comment on was the drab bathroom in our room, they are certainly due a refurbishment but thinking of it you don't visit NY to sit in the bathroom!! The room was clean, the bed,s were comfortable and we were not disturbed during the night by noisy guest's.Just one more thing $16 a day for wifi in your room, come on Waldorf for the price we pay to stay this should be free.[It's free in the lobby] Well that's what i think of the Waldorf Astoria, and whenever my wife and family visit NYC we never stay anywhere else.
“The Trip of a Lifetime”
New York at Thanksgiving was on our bucket list. We can now check this off. We had a fabulous time. The Waldorf was awesome, the character, the richness, the location could not be beat. The only reason I gave it a 4 for maintenance is because we got stuck in the elevator on our way to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City. However, they did respond immediately and were very concerned with our dilemma. We were only delayed by 20 minutes. They guided us through the lobby, secured us a cab, gave us a late check out for the next day and offered to pay for our cab. I guess if we wanted to get ugly, we could have complained more and gotten more from them, but we chalked it up to an adventure story to share when we got home. We made the show in plenty of time and enjoyed our late check out the next day.
“Great trip”
We didn't stay there much but it sure made for a nice place to call home for our holiday weekend getaway. It made the whole trip a little more...special.
“Rookie to NY, Loved the Waldorf!”
This was our first trip to NY and decided to go with the historic Waldorf. It was all we expected and more. Tim T. at the front desk started off our experience by truly taking time with us and giving us an abundance of info about the hotel and the surrounding area. Our room was bigger than we expected in NY and was clean with a comfy bed. All the staff seemed to make it a point to say hello. We were very pleased and would definitely recommend this hotel!
“Lovely break”
Very nice hotel.
“okay”
we were excited to stay in this famed hotel but were a little disapointed with thee level of service. The overall ambience was one one faded glamour and while it tries to live up to its past history it is falling short. The week-end we checked inh was very busy and there were several errors made during the initial check-in process. overall it was a satisfactory experience but in no way would I consider it outstanding. The location of the hotel is one of its best features aqs it was close to everything and everywhere we wanted to visit.
“Can't wait to go back The Best Place to stay”
They were a very special group of people. The Waldorf was beautiful. The concierge service was outstanding they mapped everything out for you also gave discount tickets made restaraunt reservations for you they did everything. The rooms were beautiful and very clean I had a regular room but it was very spacious you didn,t feel cramped at all.The staff at the Waldorf my first trip to New York City very memorable I will never forget it and I will go back to stay there
“Terrible”
We stayed at the Waldorf as part of our expedia package and had known of the hotel's positive international reputation previously. We were immediately shocked to see a disgusting bug in the toilet as soon as we walked into our room. Problems only continued over the following three days ..... including being woken up two days in a row by our loud yelling neighbours, hearing everything going on in the hallways and rooms around us all night, waiting over an hour for the hotel to bring us an extra blanket, not having a minibar price list in our room, being charged $17 USD for a bag of cashews, asking the concierge for breakfast advice who didn't know ........
“NigeW”
Wow, what an experience!
“The wonderful Wadorf”
