Very nice hotel with a lot of history

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: I love the grand decor that brings thoughts of a gilded age.
Cons: My TV remotes were tough to use--probably bad batteries. I called up late one night for a replacement, but it never came.
Location: It's in the heart of NYC. There's everything to do.
The experience was very nice. I had a suite that was spacious and clean.

Pros: excellent central location for exploring new york
Cons: see above
Location: close to times square and lots of attractions
the hotel is very overpriced and is in serious need of a makeover. a lot of staff milling about not doing much and everyone looks for tips non-stop. hotel residents were being ushered through the side entrance on Saturday due to a vip visit. totally unacceptable given the price of staying at the Waldorf

Excellent hotel

Posted 10-Sep-2014
Pros: See above
Cons: If checking in time could be earlier
Best hotel that we have been in and excellent hotel experience . Massive luxury rooms. It was quite tempting to stay in and not leave the hotel! Position is great and on open tour bus route with its own bus stop as well as within walking distance to some main New York attractions.

Pros: Very interesting and grand property. Received a complimentary room upgrade to a very nice room.
Cons: The English spoken by the service staff a bit hit or miss.
A very nice room and stay at a luxurious and fascinating property. Very cool!

Central location in Midtown otherwise, old & dirty

Posted 09-Sep-2014
Asked for a sewing kit from front desk and they never brought one to room. Staff not very friendly and hotel needs a serious renovation. Terribly dirty, faulty pipes and water lines. Dust and dirt beyond belief. Not worth the value. I at and spent more time at The Plaza hotel willingly.

Awesome!

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything! Super location. Stunning facilities and extremely welcoming staff.
Cons: Nothing! (Though a kettle would be nice) That said, there were 2 Starbucks and a Pret A Manger a minutes walk away!
Location: Ideally located for The Rockefeller Centre, Empire State Building, Grand Central Station and the shops on 5th Avenue etc
An amazing hotel, steeped in history but also up to date...wifi etc

Not much for the money

Posted 07-Sep-2014
The room overlooked concrete so I was disappointed with how expensive the room was and what I got for it. The hotel itself is beautiful but the room was average at best. When you think about the Waldorf Astoria I always equate luxury, but I was so disappointed :( I will not stay there again I'm sorry to say.

The fabulous Waldorf Astoria

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: It's historic, elegant, timeless, and classic.
Cons: complimentary Wi-Fi in the rooms.
Location: The WA is in the center of Midtown, everything is nearby. Shopping, sights. transit, major thoroughfares. You cannot bet the location.
A truly beautiful and elegant hotel, a grand dame. They do not build hotels like this anymore. Historic, decorated, opulent, and every detail is taken into account. We had a lovely room, but it didn't have a terrific view. We did have an unobstructed view of a large garden terrace but not of either r park or Lexington Avenue. The bathroom was quite beautiful, with lovely marble finishes, and a very spacious bathtub. I guess the best compliment I can give the WA is that I wish we had been able to spend more time in our hotel and room just enjoying the ambiance, the live pianist in the lobby, and the elegance of the grand hotel.
