Nice hotel, but horrible breakfast.

Posted 27-Feb-2015
Pros: Bar staff was fantastic.
Everything about the Roosevelt was great except for the breakfast situation. It is not the best food (DON'T order the "New York Bagel" because they lie), and it was difficult for them to get a bloody mary because the bar was closed. I just thought when people are on vacation and having breakfast, they might be interested in a lovely mimosa, bloody or belini with their over-priced breakfast.

Rude staff and tiny room - many better options

Posted 27-Feb-2015
Room was fine but tiny. Hotel is really old and dirty. The hallway was load and there was a lot of noise coming from other rooms. Paper thin walls. Hotel staff was decent enough, but the folks I talked to on the phone were horrible. There are plenty of hotels in NY that are newer, quieter, and at more reasonable prices.

It was a great hotel and really central

The hotel was great. The concierge however gave us erroneous information regarding booking a table in a restaurant. The staff in the bar were excellent very courteous and obliging.

Great place in the heart of Midtown

Posted 26-Feb-2015
The rooms were very clean and nice. The bathrooms could use a little updating- and had to wait a bit for warm water in the shower one morning- otherwise I would have given this excellent rating.

Good hotel, close to all major attractions

Posted 26-Feb-2015
Pros: hotel was well maintained, cleaning staff always on the go and always busy.
Cons: Noise of the air conditioning unit was very load, but the temperature in New York during our visit was -18.
Location: Very good base for getting about. Grand Central is 2 blocks away, and it was a 5 minute walk to times square and broadway.
excellent hotel, with good facilities. Close to all attractions and grand central so getting about is no problems. Booking in process was very easy and although the lobby always looked busy the noise was minimal.

Dissapointed

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: location
Cons: overall service to guests. Bellstaff not attentive. Front desk cold but polite.
Location of hotel was very good. Employees were to busy playing around to give proper service to the guests. Room was adequate, but not as clean as it should have been. Also, the amenities were sparce. No coffee maker, no refridgerator. Would not go back to the Roosevelt.
