Beautiful hotel! Close to many must see locations!

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: It was beautiful from the moment you walked in and a peaceful getaway from the hustle of the city. The employees were happy to accommodate any need.
Cons: The room service pricing taxes gratuity delivery tip were outrageous! Yes it is an upscale hotel but for many this is a once in a lifetime trip.
Location: Grand Central Station, Central Park, FAO Schwartz, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, 5th Avenue Shops, Times Square & Dylan's Candy Bar.
We were in town for our 10 year wedding anniversary. This was our first visit ever to NYC. The New York Palace experience just added to the wonderful time we had during our stay. The beauty of the hotel will forever be a conversation in our lifetime.

Absolutely a wonderful experience!

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, Facilities, Court yard setting, the rooms, bathrooms, employees, concierge, everything!
Location: The location is across from Rockerfeller Center, The Saks 5th Avenue, Saint Patricks Cathedral, the subway, restaurants, Radio City, a lot of fun see.
The New York Palace made me feel like a king and my family royalty. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, and classy with superior linens on the bed and in the bathroom. The service was off the hook ridiculous. There are no ice machines on the floor so I called the front desk and almost as soon as I hung up the ice was in my room. I called again prior to receiving the ice to ask for some wine glasses, in which they asked "for red or white wine?" The location is great as well and can't wait to go back soon. They have a customer for life!

Great experience!

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Pros: It has a nice touch of Luxury.
Cons: Include SNY channel.
Location: Like I said, it is in the middle of many place we wanted to visit.
Could not have had a better hotel experience. Our hotel just happened to be right in the middle of every place interesting. The added bonus for us is that out favorite Major League Baseball Team just happened to be staying there also. The only thing lacking in our stay is that the television lineup did not include SNY channel.

Room yes, food no

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Great location, room was upgraded to a great view of city and was newly remodeled, it was roomy and clean. The hotel lacked a restaurant on a weekend and had disappointing room service as chicken on ceasars salad tasted like it was made hours before and just heated up; wrong sauce on pasta; breakfast was just as disappointing in the main (only?) dining room as tea and coffee was not warm, toast not "toasted" i.e. warm bread, and eggs served luke warm. Even the pasty cafe that carries Michel Richard's name was not to the European standards (latte & cheescake) we have come to expect from top chefs and restaurants. We would be happy to return but would only use the room at this hotel and go outside the hotel for all food.

Fabulous Location

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: Cleanliness second to none. Bathroom facilities clean and toiletries replenished daily. Beautiful entrance hall. Nice patisserie attached to hotel.
Cons: Complimentary water would've been nice upon arrival.
Location: Very central for shopping, sightseeing in Central Park, Rockefeller centre. Right next to Saks on fifth avenue, close to all major stores.
This was our first trip to New York as a family. Upon arrival the staff were friendly. The room was lovely, and spotless. Amazing views in the premier skyline view room. Overlooking St Patricks cathedral (although this is under renovation at present) and views of the Rockefeller plaza. Close to all shopping and within short walking distance of Central Park, or Times Square. Very quiet room, barely any traffic noise. One thing only was that water was not provided complimentary in the room, it was $11 per bottle. Molten brown toiletries, replenished daily. The beds ( we had a family room with 2 double beds) were extremely comfortable and clean fresh bedding. There is a nice outdoor seating area which is rare in New York, lovely to sit out at night with a glass of wine ( although watch the biting midgies, I got 20 bites on my leg and had to go buy insect repellant. Probably due to the gorgeous weather we had. The entrance hall is magnificent. Plenty lifts to upper floors. The hotel were more than happy to store our luggage on the last day for our late flight , check out is only 12 o'clock lunchtime anyway, and offered us access to the leisure facilities to change prior to leaving for home. That is the only time we ventured to the leisure facilities which were nice. Plenty showers, razors in men's room, plenty towels and bathrobes. They also lend you leisure clothes and trainers if u need them. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on future visits to New York.
