Kitano in nice but could be better

Posted 27-Oct-2014
Pros: Location and spacious quiet rooms.
Cons: Free wifi would be better, lots of other hotels in NYC offer this.
Location: Empire State is a few blocks away as is Grand Central, 42nd Street and Chrysler building.
The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are a great size. The wifi is not great, the lobby wifi was sketchy and in room was not good either as we had to log in at every new page we went to. We complained at check out and we were told we would not be charged; we were charged which was very disappointing.

Perfection in the Big Apple

Posted 09-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Park Avenue is an absolutely prized location - a sophisticated retreat which is close to all the attractions that NY has to offer.
Having enjoyed many weekend breaks in New York over the last 15 years (all booked through Expedia) my daughter and I have built up a pretty fair view of a number of Midtown hotels. It would be fair to say that we have never been disappointed. However, in virtually every category, the Kitano comes out top of our list. The location on Park Avenue really could not be bettered. The staff to a man and a woman were wonderfully courteous and helpful. The style and layout of our beautiful corner twin bedded room were perfection. And a very special word of appreciation for concierge Raita who somehow managed to track down a desperately needed dentist on a Sunday morning!

Spotless Hotel

Posted 09-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness and cost.
Cons: Free Wi-Fi in room would be nice.
Location: Great central location, Empire State Building and Grand Central Station a short walk away. Excellent base for all attractions and Subway.
Excellent location in Midtown Manhattan. Spotlessly clean and comfortable room. Staff very helpfull and polite, would highly recommend and would have no hesitation in staying again.

This hotel is like a paradise for Japanese

Posted 07-Sep-2014
Pros: The facilities are very good and staffs are friendly, kindly. On last day, they kept our bags till 4p.m. That is very helpful for us.
Cons: We wanted to get ice. We need a vending machine.
Location: Hotel's location is the best. We can go everywhere we want by subway, even if by walk. We can do everything we want, musical, NBL,US Open tennis.
I had a mistake of reservation, but the hotel person she is Japanese solved the problem. So I appreciate very much. I had a lot of excuse, because I can explain by Japanese. The hotel facilities are wonderful, especially shower toilet is very good for me. Other things are perfect. Anyway everything is better than I expected.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of New York

Posted 03-Sep-2014
First trip to New York so didn't know what to expect when it came to the hotel. The reception staff & concierge were nothing but polite and extremely helpful. The room was very spacious with a king size bed & huge bathroom! Both very clean and maid service was faultless. The hotel itself is quite central, Central Park is about a 20min walk away, grand central station under 10 mins walk and the hustle and bustle of Madison Avenue, 5th avenue and Times Square is but a few streets along! If I'm lucky enough to stay in New York again this will definitely be my hotel of choice!

Turning Japanese

Posted 22-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Very Japanese hotel with lots of guests bowing to each other in the lobby which was nice to see. Upgraded to a suite that was excellent size with a very comfortable bed. I had the electronic toilet seat, quite an experience.Location is very good Mid Town two blocks to Grand Central but still somehow quiet. Overall this is an outstanding choice in NYC
