“Great place to stay!!”
We enjoyed the hotel so much. Great location and easy to get to the subway. Two moms and two teenage girls. This was just right for us.
“Nice stay if you can drive on your own”
Overall nice.. very comfortable stay, the front office was very helpful (they got a taxi cab for me) (and I did not know I cannot board a NY taxi in NJ).. If you are visiting NYC and you can drive yourself (toll is $12 for Holland tunnel but you can avoid toll if you take lincoln tunnel).. this is a nice place to stay right next to NYC. If you need to get a cab, its gonna cost you $60 for a 5 mile drive to NYC. Decide for yourself.
“It is awesome”

“Efficient and Just the Basics”
Located next to Holland Tunnel in Jersey City. Can get noisy....New Yorkers love to honk their carhorns. Free parking and free Wi-fi. Clean sheets and hot water hotel only. King bedroom was good. Continental breakfast is coffee, a few fresh fruits and overloads of high-fat muffins and pastries. No sit down area. You need to take it back to your room. If your plan is to go to NY and focus on the city this is a good place to stay to start and end the day. Close to Newport PATH stop to Manhattan (10 minute walk) which goes to 33rd Street near Penn Station or alternate line to World Trade Centre (WTC) stop. If you want a hotel experience to compliment your NY trip this won't do it. This place is solid but only on the basics. Staff friendly and accomodating. Huge Mall with a Macys about 5 minute walk across the street.
“Great idea for a weekend in NYC!”
This was great for our trip to NYC! I was worried about driving in Manhattan so this worked out great - the location is convenient, it's close, it's a lot cheaper than staying in NYC and you've got the option of parking your car when you arrive and not needing it again until it's time to leave!! Short walk from the metro station which took us to NYC in minutes. Definitely recommend this mode of transportation - fast, hassle-free and cheap! No worries about parking, flagging down taxis, or paying for taxis or parking! Really straight-forward and easy to navigate. The room was fine - spacious, clean, comfortable bed. The hotel is a bit old, could use some lipstick, but that wasn't important to us. For the price you pay it is ok. Staff is nice. The breakfast was decent. A lot to choose from - cereal, oatmeal, croissants, pastries, fruit. Area was quiet, we felt safe walking back to the hotel from the metro station at night. Super close to NYC. One Metro Stop Away from Hoboken (home of Carlo's bakery from Cake Boss) and there's also a big mall close by for some last minute shopping. Would stay again!
“Great location, good value for the money.”
The Hotel is old and right next to the Holland Tunnel but a quick 10 min walk to the PATH train, the Newport Mall across the street, and the marina with beautiful view of all of NYC was perfect. Would go back in a minute. Room was old but clean, comfortable and the staff friendly. We only used the room to sleep, the rest of the time we were out and about in the city. The pastries for breakfast were to die for.
“Smell smoke”
Had to change my reservation 1 day earlier which the hotel was nice enough to oblige, but we got the smoking room due to the change, it was horrible, I could smell the stalled smoke the moment we walked in, the room is clean enough but the room too shabby for us. The location is ideal being so close to NY City, but due to the smell we would not stay here again, I asked for a spray to cover the smell but did not help. You can tell the management took pride in it as they sweep the parking lot, they serve nice pastries and coffee and they even plant flowers by the window, which says allot to me. For the average travelers I think they will be very happy here.
“Peca S.”
Perfect motel. Helpful stuff. We were in USA 26 day and this motel had the best breakfast included in price. And the best destination for visiting Manhattan. Only 8 minutes from Path to Manhattan.
“Pleasantly surprised.”
I read reviews online & was skeptical. I didn't know quite what to expect, so, I kept my expectations low. I was pleasantly surprised. If someone can navigate the PATH system, then, the hotel is pretty convenient. If you're new to trying to navigate any kind of train or subway system at all, then, it's a long, long walk from PATH entrance, especially w/ luggage. I would highly suggest asking for "detailed" instructions on how to get from point A to B. I will say that the staff was VERY helpful in all of the questions that my husband & I had regarding pretty much anything. As far as the actual hotel experience goes, all we used it for was sleep & the occasional jelly doughnut to start our day. There is a continental breakfast like everyone knows but the one drawback is that every guest that partakes, has to share the tiny lobby area with other guests that want to enjoy the "breakfast". All in all, I wouldn't mind staying in Jersey again if we decide to make another trip to NY. The price of the hotel itself can't really be beat by any hotel in Manhattan. If you decide to stay @ this hotel, I hope you enjoy it. You too might be pleasantly surprised.
“September 2011”
If you look for the cheap hotel located 5-10 minutes from Manhattan, this is the one! The service wasn't bad. Though, I booked a room with 1 king size bed, but when I arrived, they said that they didnt have this room available and offered me a room with two separate beds. When I said that this was not what I booked, they said since I alredy paid for it, I had no other choice but take it. I really did not like that. The room smelled like there was a mold and was very humid! If you plan to sleep through the night - forget it! The traffic noice starts around 5 am and finishes around 1am. On the positive site: the breakfast was decent, free parking, free wi-fi (but very slooow...) and quick trip to NYC. Hope this helps!
