“Best bedding in NY”
The staff made sure that my girlfriends Birthday was perfect. From the 4 different kinds of pillows to the cupcake with the Happy Birthday greeting written in chocolate to our upgraded suite it was perfect. We fell in love during our carriage ride in Central Park.I can't wait to go back next month!!
“Convenient Location, Nice front desk staff”
Needed a last minute hotel room and Expedia found me a room quickly. The Benjamin Hotel is in a great location. The front desk staff were great. Got checked in quickly. Room is spacious, extremely clean and comfortable. Bathroom is small, but adequate, and was nicely decorated. If I need to stay again in NYC, I would definitely stay at The Benjamin Hotel.
“Filthy Bathroom”
Dirty bathroom that smelled like a public bathroom in a third world country. Room freezing cold, colder than outside, no heat. They gave me a space heater.
“Perfect NYC Location”
Have just returned from a shopping trip with 3 girlfiends in NYC. Did we help the American economy with our spending as The Benjamin is located within walking distance to Bloomingdales,Saks 5th Avenue and the myraid of other shops and department stores on Park Ave,Madison and 5th. The hotel staff were amazing especially the girls on concierge, they would help us locate anything. My concerns re The Benjamin would be the configuration of the rooms we stayed in a 1 bedroomed suite, the placement of the desk made it near impossible to enter the kitchenette and the furniture was too big for the room size. The sofa bed is of poor quality, however the choice of pillows is fantastic, we also had difficulty accessing the free wi-fi it was never available on 25th floor but friends who stayed on 7th floor had no problems.
“Will always be my choice in New York!”
The Benjamin is a reliably comfortable hotel to stay in. The restaurant "The Nationale" is also fabulous.
“GOOD HOTEL / BAD SERVICE FROM EXTERNAL PROVIDERS - LIKE INTERNET - PAID MOVIES”
VERY FRIENDLY STAFF , GOOD LOCATION BAD SERVICE FROM PROVIDERS
“Nice, but had some issues.”
Has real potential, but.. the lobby was undergoing major renovations, scaffolding, painting, no palce to sit down. These things have to happen, but some compensation would be nice for the guest who have to navigate these things. Mold in the bathroom shower area, .. that is unacceptable at their going rate. Also, if you want wifi, go across the street to Starbucks or pay a daily fee which we felt was excessive. Has potential, but ...
“pillow menu is awesome”
loved this hotel -- was very convenient to all yet was quiet and comfortable. We travel with our 2 boys (ages 10 & 11) and enjoy staying in boutique "eco-minded" hotels. We had a 1 bdrm deluxe suite with terrace, a pull out couch and separate kitchenette for 4 nights. The bedding was incredible and the room was very quiet. The hotel restaurant (The National) was also convenient and had great food. The suite provided lots of room for the 4 of us however the bathroom was very, very small (expected in NYC) and the seat to the toilet didn't stay up due to poor placement under the marble counter. The only other wish list item would be to have a 2nd half bath in the suite which is always nice when traveling with boys! All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel for it's comfort, convenience, cleanliness & friendly staff.
“Comfortable Hotel in a Great Location”
My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Benjamin. The location was perfect - walking distance to shopping, Times Square, Central Park and galleries - and the subway entrance across the street made it very easy to get everywhere else. The staff were very helpful, particularly William at the desk, and Mohammed who convinced an off duty cab driver to get us to our reservations in Soho on time. While the room decor wasn't over the top, it was certainly clean and very comfortable. My only negative comment - having to pay for WiFi.
“Awesome classy hotel”
First time stay, chosen for proximity to Grand Central Station and Expedia sale price. Very classy hotel, we were extremely impressed with every aspect. Upon check-in, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a one bedroom suite. All staff we encountered were extremely professional, courteous and friendly. Upon commenting on a painting behind the front desk, the man checking us in (Rich?) gave us the history and meaning of the display. Bed was a dream and bathroom was modern and clean. Will definitely stay again and will definitely recommend to others.
