We have stayed in many hotels over the past 15 years in NYC. This one by far is our very favorite. The staff was top notch. The hotel was very clean. It was convenient to many locations. We will definitely plan on staying here again.

The hotel staff welcomed us and provided a good care of us. The cleaning lady was absolutely wonderful, whenever she met us in the hall she would always ask how was it in our room and if we needed anything. The feeling that you’re cared was constant. A great service!

The hotel staff were nice and the room was spacious. The location is very close to the subway, so that was nice. The negative is that the room was dated with no screen on the window and the "facility fee" was a rip off since there were no real facilities to use. If I hadn't had to pay the facility fee, I would have been much happier.

This is our third stay in the San Carlos, its a wonderful hotel, we asked to switch rooms because they one we had reserved ended up feeling too small. They changed us to a bigger room for a special price. And ended up not charging us for a rollaway bed. I will always stay here if I can. The only negative, is that while extremely well kept, it is due for a renovation. It feels a little bit tired. Also, they used to offer continental breakfast included in the room price, not anymore.

My sin and did his senior trip together and stayed here- it amwas absolutely fantastic- the satff were always so kind and attentive!!! Will most definitely choose this place again on my next trip here!!

This hotel was great, considering it is in the heart of Manhattan. We could walk to everything. The water pressure was not great and could use some updating but still a great hotel. We got a really good price on it too through a package.

The hotel is in a great location in Midtown Manhattan. a 10-15 minute walk to theaters, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, shopping, transportation, restaurants and more. It’s just iff the beaten path enough to be in a neighborhood atmosphere, with plenty of options for food, coffee and drinks nearby. The room was large, clean and with plenty of amenities and the hotel staff was friendly and welcoming.

The rooms we had at San Carlos hotel were above average in size for NYC. It was in a quiet location with plenty of restaurants in the area. Beds were very comfortable, staff were welcoming. Overall a nice stay

Room was clean and spacious with plenty of room for our family of six. Staff was professional, helpful, kind, friendly and attentive. Location was nice and it’s easy to get anywhere in the city that we wanted to go by either walking or hopping onto the nearby subway.

The very good = The very good location, very friendly and helping staff, the hotel is very quiet The only downside is that they do not serve breakfast in the hotel. But there are plenty of options in the neighbourhood.

We never could get the WiFi to work in the hotel, but other than that it was an awesome room for five people! We had a double queen room with sleeper sofa and a little kitchenette. There are metro stations one and two blocks away so it is a great location. We would stay there again !

The Staff at the San Carlos Hotel were extremely friendly and helpful as well as the housecleaning people. The room was cozy and the overall ambiance was nice. It is close to almost anything you may want to do in New York City as we walked to a Broadway show as well as towards 2nd avenue for bars and restaurants. And the walk to Grand Central to go back home with our luggage instead of driving into NYC was another plus.

We enjoyed our stay at the San Carlos. It’s conveniently located in midtown Manhattan, easy walk to Rockefeller Center and close to the subway, shops, cafés, restaurants, and pharmacies. We needed to see a doctor during our stay and there was a CityMD clinic one block away. Our room was a good size, very clean and comfortable - we had a suite with a king bed in the bedroom and a pull-out bed for our kids in the outer room. There’s a small exercise room on the 3rd floor with treadmills and a weight machine. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they provided umbrellas to borrow when it rained.

We had a wonderful stay at the San Carlos. The beds were really cofortable, and the 2 Q room was as bigger than I'd expect in New York. Nice coffee maker and refrigerator area. Bathroom had very little counter space but was more than fine. Nice staff!

Exceptional service
The service at this hotel is better than I’ve received at ultra luxury places. The staff is really smart and thoughtful. I particularly appreciated that they made up the rooms early in the day. I’ve stated too many hotels where the rooms had not been made up at 4 PM. One morning, we simply threw on clothes to go to the excellent coffee shop across the street, New York luncheonette. I had laid out my clothes for the day on the unmade bed. When we returned from breakfast at 9:30 AM. Our room had already been cleaned, sheets and towels, replaced and beautifully made up. Even better, the clothes that I had thrown on the bed in anticipation of using later in the day had been taken off, carefully folded, and then replaced on top of the bed which had been made. A level of service which has disappeared in most places.
