Great location for exploring N.Y..

Posted 01-Jul-2015
Pros: Location the best.
Cons: Bathrooms a little dated.
Location: subway close. Close to central park. Close to restaurants and not far from time square. We walked mostly and only used the subway once.
Lovely staff. Very helpful. A bit odd eating breakfast with plastic cutlery but food lovely and fresh.

The hotel is in a great location

Posted 01-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Would benefit from some modernisation
Location: Central park very close and a short walk to Time square
The hotel is in a great location close to central park and time square. Although it is dated and would benefit from some modernisation it is still very comfortable. We had a huge room which we were told was a free upgrade on the 8th floor which wasat the back of the hotel so it did not suffer from any traffic noise. I would say overall very good value for money for a New York hotel

Nice hotel with character.

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Location was perfect! Walk to Times Square and Central Park. Awesome 2 room suite if you need that. Great little convenient store next door.
Cons: can't think of anything!!
Location: Great little store next door for food cooked to order, coffee, just about anything. (a place locals go to)
If you're looking for a modern hotel with a city view ..this is not it. BUT it was a VERY nice hotel with a lot old old charm and character and reasonably priced. The room we had was a two room suite. Perfect for our party of 5 adults. We were in the city for sight seeing so we didn't spend much time in the room, just to sleep. beds were comfy, sheets looked and smelled clean, nice pillows. Location was perfect! we walked everywhere we wanted. It was really a perfect quick trip to NYC. Will stay there again! (this was actually my second stay there)

Great hotel and location.

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Location, Clean Room, Parking
Location: The location is great. Right on the subway. Café Europa is next door, Russian Tea Room, Carnegie Hall.
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The location is excellent and you can walk to the Central Park, 5th Avenue, Times Square. You are also right on the subway which is up the street from the hotel. There are also few places to get food around the hotel. Parking is close and you will get detailed directions how to get to the garage. The parking rate was $24 per 24 hours with a parking ticket validated by the hotel so don't forget to validate the parking ticket before you leave the hotel. The room was clean and huge for New York City. The décor is little dated by not bad, the bed was comfortable and A/C worked. Our room had windows that opened so that was good too. The only issue I had with the room was that there was non functioning ventilator in the bathroom. Not a huge issue though. We would definitely stay at the hotel again. It was a great value for the money.

Perfect area

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: I liked the area it was located in. We could walk to all of our activities and the restaurants that the staff recommended were very good.
Cons: We did not notice sprinklers in the room.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but, it could use some sprucing up as far as furniture upkeep. The staff did not clean under the coffee maker, otherwise it was well kept. The continental breakfast was more than adequate and very good.

Awesome place in the center of it all

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: The staff and the location were great.
Cons: It is an older hotel, but that is what makes it appealing.
Location: The hotel is near Central Park, Broadway shows and Times Square and all the shopping you can think of.
Loved staying here at the Salsbury. They staff was so nice and assisted us with all the questions we had. The hotel is right in the middle of the city and an easy access to anywhere you would like to go. i will definitely be staying there again.

Nice Hotel close to everything

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Free Wifi and elevators move a touch faster.
Location: Close to Times Square and Central Park .
I really enjoyed my stay here. They upgraded me to a suite which was great. The only issue is that there is no wifi and you have to pay $4 for 15 min on the internet in order to print out your boarding passes. It's an older hotel but it was clean and nice. The elevators are a touch slow but overall it was great for the price and location. I would stay there again.
