“quiet convenient hotel in midtown NY”

Very quiet in spite of the good location in midtown. The bath tub was big enough to soak with my kid and the real separate living room was spacy and convenient. The parking lot was not far (1 block).

“Great Place for tourist to stay.”

What a wondrful stay in NYC! This hotel was perfect for what we wanted. There are subway lines at each end of the block: (Take the F train to 57th St. when coming from the airport, hotel is 1/2 block away across the street) There is a large 24hr Duane Reade drug store with a small grocery dept. across from the hotel. It is a very old building, but by New York standards, you get a very nice hotel for the $. It is not fancy at all and doesn't have much of a lobby for sitting around in; but why would you since you have all of NYC just outside the door. We had a king size bed in a large bedroom with a sofa sleeper in the other room, large flat panel TV in each room. A small fridge and microwave. These were small apartments back in the day (even still have the door bells {non-functioning} on the door post.) We normally stay at our daughter's place up on 120th and 2nd Ave. when we come to NYC; but she had company and her place was full. This was so convienent, we may stay there again even when her place is available. The south end of Central Park is only 2 blocks north, so I went walking each morning while my wife was getting ready. Time Square is a short walk south. Easy to catch a cross-town bus if you wanted to get to either side of Central Park and go further north. The only real complaint is that there is a fire station a couple blocks away, so we did hear the firetrucks leaving the station with horns blowing fairly often ( here again; it is NYC you know.)

“plan your trip today”

Fabulous inside (We had 2 rooms reserved so the checkin clerk asked us if we would rather the suite - YES, it felt like an apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a mini kitchen/dinning room and plenty of living space for the kids) and out (2 blocks to a carriage ride through central park, a few more blocks to time square, fao schwartz, top of the rock ect, not to mention the restaurants and deli store only doors aways)!

“Best hotel in New York up to now”

Lovely! Excellent location, extremely friendly and helpful staff, large and clean rooms, amazing beds, no noise of the heating system. The breakfast has not big choice though, but the hotel suggests you order room service from the Health Bar near by and you eve get there freshly pressed carrots juice!

“Good location, great price and nice hotel!”

The Salisbury Hotel was exactly what I expected and had read all about. Great location and the size of our room (2 double beds) was great. We had 2 walk in closets as well as a little kitchen with microwave, fridge and sink. Perfect!! I had requested a lower floor and got it! The front desk staff were helpful. We did face the street and knew that it would be noisy with the traffic, but we were so exhausted from all our activities that really, it never bothered us too much. Our room was hot though, so we had the air conditioning on most days. New York was actually having a heatwave in March....if you can believe it. Weather was very nice. Overall - I would recommend this hotel to anyone that isn't expecting a 5 star. This is a 3 star, mostly due to it not having a restaurant etc in it. It DOES HAVE a wonderful Italian restaurant next door though, that we totally recommend. Prices are not bad. As well as a convenience store next to that. I will stay @ the Salisbury again!

“Third Time in NY and best room out of Three”

Excellent location and room. Enjoyed our stay in NY and our room, the only thing that we would change is not having the heating on through the night as it gets too hot, but I was in NY the year before at another hotel and had the same problem, so maybe a over heated room is a common thing. I would use this hotel again, much better than the one I used before that was a little closer to Times Square.

“Wonderful large rooms and great position”

The Salisbury Hotel was well located. Very easy to walk to Central Park and the Theatres. The rooms were very big. We had a suite with 4 walk in wardrobes. Friends stayed in regular rooms that were large too. The bathrooms were old but clean. I loved this hotel and recommend it highly.

“Great hotel in a great location”

While this hotel is certainly older, it has been well-maintained and the staff is absolutely top-notch. The location is nearly perfect with easy access to Central Park, shopping areas and great restaurants. The rooms are big, so you really get a good deal for the money. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.
