Great staff and location

Only complaints are there was no ice bucket in room and platform around bed was a little difficult to navigate for two older people.

Never AGAIN!

Posted 09-Jul-2014
Pros: The front desk man was the only redeeming quality
Cons: Everything!!
I do not have any idea how this place managed to get 4 stars!! The room was tiny, dark, and dingy feeling. The bed was uncomfortable and there is no view to speak of. The noise in the hallway was so loud, every time someone went in and out of another room I felt like someone was slamming the door right next to me. I will never ever stay here again. The paint was chipping, the carpet was frayed, and I felt as though I should have been wearing flip flops in the shower. GROSS!! The gentleman at the front desk was very nice, he was the ONLY good thing about this place. Oh yeah, they told us they upgraded our room from a standard to a deluxe at no extra charge- seriously?? I would hate to see a standard! Spend the extra money and stay someplace else. This was awful!!!!!

Great location, tiny roms

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Pros: Location, location, location. Literally two minutes from Time Square and all it has to offer. Facilities offered were incredible for NYC and the low p
Cons: Rooms are very small. If you're planning on doing anything besides sleeping in your room, this hotel is not for you. Otherwise, can't beat the value!
Location: Literally two minute walk to Time Square. If you're there on a weekend. head one block north to Little Brazil St, lined with food carts and vendors
Stayed here with my wife and six year old son. He loved the bunk bed he slept in. Our bed was a king, pretty rare in NYC. An indoor pool, sauna and steam room kept us quite busy when we were in the hotel. Staff were great.

Staff was great. Had no negative experience. Room on the smaller end but it did not bother us. All else was great.

Awesome hotel, perfect location!

Posted 05-Jul-2014
Pros: Location, staff, room, pool...all great!
Cons: Seriously can't think of anything that could be improved.
Location: The hotel is perfectly located next to Times Square!
This hotel is situated perfectly for Times Square! A short walk to the right of the hotel entrance and you're there! We had a fabulous stay at the Room Mate Grace hotel! The staff are super friendly, the hotel is very clean and the room (we stayed in the king size bunk) was fantastic! The only drawback for some people would be that there is no door for the shower, just a curtain, which faces the room. There is a sliding door for the toilet though, so no worries there. Great hotel, we will definitely stay here again!

Awesome location

Posted 05-Jul-2014
Pros: The location, comfy beds, the staff, the pool, and the showers! This pricey, newer hotel has a prime location if you are there to visit Time Square.
Cons: Get a little more lighting in the halls and def. brighter bulbs in the rooms. Having to sit next to the closet to read is a little silly!
Location: Planet Hollywood, 1/2 block. 7th street, 1/2 block, Starbucks less than 1/2 block, subway 10 min or less, Lion King 1/2 block
Best part: location. 1/2 block from all the action. The beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. Dislikes: the halls and rooms were pretty dark and the small rooms are very small. The 1st day while we were out, we returned to a room that smelled like cigarette smoke. The engineer said it couldn't have come from the a/c, so the next day we rigged the door so we could know if someone came in ... no other problems like that. The manager called and was very concerned re. the note I sent him and comp'ed us breakfast. That day (day 2) came back and the a/c wouldn't kick on so at 11:30 pm we hastily packed up and moved rooms ... thankfully a bigger room and only across the hall. They allowed us to finish the week in that room with no extra charges. I had voiced concerns about a private party at the pool from the 1st night and the manager was concerned about that as well. The pool area was overfull with people having a loud party. It was a nightclub at the pool with bodies and stuff everywhere. Not what you look forward to after traveling all day and most of the night. The next day there were still two plastic cups in the pool. The other nights of our stay allowed for a relaxing time in the chilly pool and hot sauna. An absolutely perfect way to rest after walking and shopping all day in NYC. A pool plus was the low benches situated inside and around two sides of the pool, so we could sit, unwind, watch the game on the HUGE screen next to pool.

Superb hotel, well situated, great staff

Posted 01-Jul-2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable, close to everything, very safe, courteous staff. Wonderful beds and showers. Great place to stay.
Cons: Tell the maid not to make the AC into a replay of the Franklin Expedition. I almost froze one night before figuring out the thermostat was down low.
Location: Excellent. Right in the middle of everywhere you want to go! This was New York at its finests!
Very spiffy hotel! Luis the weekend doorman was great. Clean, user-friendly hotel. Don't expect large rooms. This hotel is the European model, but the showers are great, the beds very comfortable, the premises very safe, and the location excellent! My friend said the pool was wonderful so bring your suit (the pool was featured on Fashion Television). Close to theatres. great restaurants, Bryant Park, and outstanding shopping, the place felt homey without being intimidating. It had everything I needed including comfort. Great staff, fast elevators, great environment. I hope to stay there again.

Close to the action

This small and quirky hotel was in the perfect spot for time square.. just around the corner. As for the hotel it self, it was on the interesting side. As you you enter, you might be able to see your way down the hall with the very dim lighting to a postage size room and a very slow draining coffin of a shower but other than that :-) the staff are lovely and who stays in their room in NY anyway!!

Very uncomfortable

Posted 23-Jun-2014
Worst place I ever stayed. Very uncomfortable. My husband and I stuck out like a saw thumb. So uncomfortable in the pool with the people and blasting music, we left. The room is extremely small. The bathroom and shower is like one at a beach. The air condition didn't work. No coffee pot on room and leak on the ceiling. Never again!!!!
