Quietish midtown hotel

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Cons: Cleanliness, bar not opened on weekends, free wifi.
The hotel was perfect for me--I was there on business. The room was small but functional. However, there were some obvious stains on the carpet, and the noise from outside was pretty loud, at least during the day. They provide a breakfast, but have since removed their complimentary wifi, which is a bit of a dealbreaker.

Central location...

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros: Great location, powerful shower, comfy bed...
Cons: Better lighting in room, offer complimentary toiletries.
Location: Right on Madison Avenue. Macy's, Empire State Building, Grand Central Station and Times Square are a short walk away.
There was no signage outside the hotel so I had to ask the doorman if I was in the right place. My room was on the 8th floor overlooking other rooms and the air duct so I had to keep the blinds down. This meant I had no natural light and the lighting in the room is very dark even with all the lamps on. The room itself was small but normal for Manhattan. The bathroom was especially small but with a great powerful shower. The beauty mirror was in the corner above the toilet so only accessible if I stood on the toilet or was 6 foot tall. No complimentary toiletries which was a shame. The air conditioning unit was very noisy and at times sounded like it was about to break down. However the hotel offers complimentary breakfast and wifi which is rare for New York. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. They gave me somewhere to repack my suitcase when I was leaving for my late flight and freshen up. Whilst there were things I wasn't overly impressed with my room, I think that other rooms may be better (especially those overlooking Madison Avenue) so you get better light.

The hotel lobby is very dark, there is no sign outside the hotel to let you know where it is. I felt like i was sleeping in an Ikea add. They offer no soap or shampoo unless you want to pay 75 for the whole kit. I would not recommend this hotel. I feel that they are not worth the price they charge.

Good location and friendly staff.

Good location, friendly staff and clean rooms. Breakfast was very poor and often out of stock on basic products such as cheese. Room A/C was quite noisy.

Morgans Hotel- centrally located.

Posted 09-Sep-2014
Pros: Central location
Cons: Would prefer no jazz music played over breakfast. Lol.
Location: Most things within walking distance- Empire State, Central Park, Rockefeller Centre etc etc
Nice clean hotel, central location. Staff friendly. Buffet breakfast good. No issues at all with stay. Room was a little small with little natural light but was only really there to sleep. Cant really find much fault with hotel.
