Staying at the Westin in Boston

Posted 18-Dec-2014
Pros: Very central with indoor links to shopping malls and Back Bay train station.
Cons: Bath was uncomfortable due to its strange design, i.e. a shelf jutting out if you wished to lie back and relax.
Location: Boston library couldn't be closer. Disappointed with the Trinity Church and not worth the admission charge in my opinion.
Great location and view. Disappointed in that the hotel unexpectedly withdrew a la carte breakfast option on day of departure and lost our ice block that was needed to keep medicine cool during transit.

Nice hotel with great location

Posted 05-Dec-2014
Pros: Location was convenient. Cozy and comfortable with helpful staffs.
Location: Walking distance to Bryant Park, NY Public Library, Times Square. With good weather and good shoes, you can walk all the way to Central Park too!
We spent a week at Morgans NY and it was great. The hotel was near many tourist spot and yet not too near so the vicinity is not too crowded or noisy. The front desk staffs are always helpful, they even helped us make reservations at restaurants. Rooms are always clean promptly. The also serve complimentary coffee and tea all the day at the lounging area. Nice cafe and diners around the corners. Piccolo cafe right across the street is a MUST TRY!!

Very comfortable room and a great base for NYC

Posted 30-Nov-2014
My mum and I stayed here on our first trip to New York. The hotel was a great location for all the midtown sites (Empire State building, Times Square, MoMA, fifth avenue shopping all within walking distance) and proximity to grand central meant it was easy to get the subway up or down town for other sites. Only letdown was the poor provision of tea/coffee - none in the rooms and the facilities that were meant to be available in the dining area were often depleted of cups/water/milk. This was the case all but one evening of our stay. I know it was thanksgiving weekend so I suppose that might have made things a bit tighter. Overall a very good hotel with a good size room (much better than I am used to in "4*" hotels in London), friendly staff and excellent location.

Not what we had hoped

Good location however for a 4 star hotel we expected a more welcoming reception and a shower without mold in it. Staff very friendly

Quietish midtown hotel

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Cons: Cleanliness, bar not opened on weekends, free wifi.
The hotel was perfect for me--I was there on business. The room was small but functional. However, there were some obvious stains on the carpet, and the noise from outside was pretty loud, at least during the day. They provide a breakfast, but have since removed their complimentary wifi, which is a bit of a dealbreaker.

Central location...

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros: Great location, powerful shower, comfy bed...
Cons: Better lighting in room, offer complimentary toiletries.
Location: Right on Madison Avenue. Macy's, Empire State Building, Grand Central Station and Times Square are a short walk away.
There was no signage outside the hotel so I had to ask the doorman if I was in the right place. My room was on the 8th floor overlooking other rooms and the air duct so I had to keep the blinds down. This meant I had no natural light and the lighting in the room is very dark even with all the lamps on. The room itself was small but normal for Manhattan. The bathroom was especially small but with a great powerful shower. The beauty mirror was in the corner above the toilet so only accessible if I stood on the toilet or was 6 foot tall. No complimentary toiletries which was a shame. The air conditioning unit was very noisy and at times sounded like it was about to break down. However the hotel offers complimentary breakfast and wifi which is rare for New York. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. They gave me somewhere to repack my suitcase when I was leaving for my late flight and freshen up. Whilst there were things I wasn't overly impressed with my room, I think that other rooms may be better (especially those overlooking Madison Avenue) so you get better light.

You are right - Superior Rooms are better than Standards! We are working on installing much stronger lighting. Thank you for your review. DR
