“Quiet Neighborhood close to Grand Central, UN and Rockefeller Center”
I stayed 3 nights with my friend and our 10 year old daughters. We felt very safe and the staff was very helpful. The lobby and hotel are a bit dated with a very 80s style, but the hallway and rooms were quite nice. Great views of the city and quiet at night. Only a short walk from Grand Central Station.
“Brilliant hotel”
Very good hotel, would recommend to my friends. Massive bed, really comfortable. Clean, air conditioned room. Lovely bathroom. Great views over Manhattan. Good location, within walking distance to Bryant Park, Grand Central Station.
“Perfect as is”
A very nice place. Comfortable rooms with a great view. Wonderful staff.
“comfortable bed, but poorly maintained”
Good: Bed was very comfortable and new furniture was nice. Very helpful doorman. Bad: Could not get shower head to spray properly and water leaked from tap. Base of floor lamp was filthy. No wash cloths. Only one waste paper basket. No coffee maker (must request). Ironing board was very flimsy.
“Good value for the rate”
Location was pretty good and the neighborhood is safe. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was larger than most of the places I've stayed in NYC, but the carpet had so many stains that it was hard to identify its original color and the bathroom was not only outdate, but dirty. It is a good hotel for the money, but not worth four stars or higher.
“Brilliant stay at the millennium plaza”
Very enjoyable stay at the Millennium UN Plaza, the staff were friendly and always happy to help. Our room was very big, huge bathroom, walk in closet and king size bed. Views to die for, River Hudson, Empire State and Chrysler Building. The only critism would be that there was no fridge or tea making facilities in the room. Swimming pool, small, but not busy ,also excellent views as you swim. easy access to surrounding areas, walked mostly, 10min to Empire State. would definitely use this hotel again.
“Could do with an update”
On the plus side, my room was on the 38th floor and had the most amazing view of the New York skyline. The Hotel location was ok and most things are within an easy walk away. On the negative side I was not impressed that the Fridge door in my room did not close becuase it was so iced up - when I pointed this out they were quick to deliver another one. Also, the rooom was very noisy due to an air vent even with the Air Con off - I asked for someone to come and look at it, but all they did was to cover it up with a piece of paper. This reduced the noice slightly, but not enough. I heard other guests complain of the same thing. The bathroom could have done with updating but the room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff were very good - very eager to help. On the whole I would not stay here again as there are many other nicer hotels in NY available for the same price.
“Hotel Room View Rivaled by No Other”
The hotel is situated in a clean and safe mid-town neighbourhood that is convenient for a number of New York tourist attractions including 5th Avenue, Times Square, Grand Central Station and Central Park. With newly refurbished rooms the hotel rooms have a fresh feel and the comfort of the king sized beds makes for a rejuvinating night's sleep. However, the bathrooms would benefit from refurbishment also. The staff were courtious, friendly and very helpful throughout our stay - often prepared to "go the extra mile" to surpass expectations. In addition the hotel has two features difficult to beat. The first is the stunning views offered in the hotel rooms - either of the inspiring Manhatten skyline or of the East River which is quite stunning at sunrise and sunset. From our room we had a clear view of both the Crysler Building and the Empire State Building. The second is the gym facilities, swimming pool and tennis court all inclusive to your stay in the hotel. Needless to say, when utilising these facilities you also get the benefit of the breathtaking views across the city. Have stayed before and am certain to choose to stay there again.
“"Wonderful staff "”
The staff was the highlight of our stay. They were so eager to please, and so nice, They deserve a big raise! The place needs an update soon!!! great location the view incredible! We would stay there again.
“Great Value, But Be Prepared To Walk”
This is one of the best values in Manhattan. The rooms are significantly larger than those in most hotels, especially for Midtown. The rooms are comfortable with lovely views of the city. The staff was friendly. And all of this was significantly less expensive than lower-quality hotels. The clear compromise is the location. It's a good five or six blocks to the nearest subway station. If the weather is at least half-decent and you don't mind that walk, it's an excellent choice.
