“A GREAT TRANSIT HOTEL TO LA GUARDIA AIRPORT PASSENGERS”

This hotel would be highly recommended for Passengers transiting from La Guardia airport. The hotel had a Gym, Swimming pool, Bar and was comfortable.

Friendly staff and good restaurant with a convenient location made our brief stay a good one.

If you can do it - buy the express elevator pass for The Empire State Building tour. They treat you like royalty and we save a 2 and 1/2 hour line-up.

“Very nice hotel and conveniently located”

I was very satisfied with this hotel -- nice room, clean, and very close to LaGuardia Airport. Nice staff, too. The free shuttle was great, both to and from the airport and also to the subway to go into the city. Getting back out to the hotel was more of a challenge, though, because the shuttle did not meet at the subway late enough for me to pick it up after a Broadway show. The hotel had recommended that I take the subway back out to a certain stop and then catch a bus the rest of the way to the hotel. Not a good idea late at night! It was a scary neighborhood; I couldn't find the right bus, and I ended up asking a policewoman to help me find a cab. During the day it would have been fine, but I wouldn't recommend this choice late at night. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Manhattan! It's at least a 45 minute trip in from this hotel, though.

“better than expected”

Had just stayed 2 nights in the city and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms and bath were large and almost too quiet. Hard to believe it's next to the airport. Impressed the shuttle runs every 20 minutes. Staff comes and goes and cleaning people have good days and bad but the hotel has potential. Maybe that's why it's being converted to a Wyndham property.

“Clean, convenient”

My stay was very comfortable. The room was clean. The location was convenient to Manhattan.

Area recommendations

The Ground Zero Memorial is a must see; it was very moving and beautifully done.

Events and shows

Crazy as it sounds, my family and I went to NYC to attend the International World Cup Quidditch Tournament. It was a very enjoyable trip and the Quidditch games were fun to watch- serious competition with a comical side. The hotel was conveniently located to Randalls Island, the tournament site. It was also an easy drive into Manhatten for sightseeing.

“Adequate but not outstanding”

When I walked into the lobby to check in there were over 100 men milling around in small groups talking, and apparently waiting to check in. After waiting behind them with no apparent movement for 30 minutes, one of them invited me to go to the head of the line and check in. He had observed that I came in off of a plane, and as it turned out this large of group of working men were Con Edison workers who had come into town to help restore power after the October snowstorm. Without the gracious intervention of this gentlemen I would have been standing there all night. I have stayed at this hotel on business a total of 40 nights over the last two years. It does not have adequate staffing at the front desk - and the check-in process is always time consuming and irritating. Some rooms are 3 star, while others are 2 star at best. Bar and restaurant have excellent but fairly slow kitchen, good wait staff. Workout room is not very clean, but there is a nice pool, hot tub, and the machines are OK. Sometimes there are big events that get loud - if you are booking something that needs a quiet conference room BEWARE of this potential nightmare. In all - this place is an average business hotel with some problems and some upside. Don't expect the Taj Mahal, but if you need a 3-star business/working hotel in close proximity to LaGuardia it is a contender. I have stayed at all the others and you get what you pay for - this place is about average.

“Convenient to LaGuardia Airport”

My husband and I just stayed the night at this hotel after returning from a cruise. We arrived about 4 hours prior to check-in, but the concierge checked our luggage and between the cushy couches in the lobby and the restaurant, we were comfortable until a room was ready. The only downside for this hotel is that the restaurant is pretty pricy and we couldn't find any other restaurants in walking distance. A big plus was a free shuttle to the airport that started at 4:00 a.m.
