“peace and quiet in the middle of manhattan”
wonderful hotel, very central location, very peaceful atmosphere inside the hotel, which was very welcome after the hustle and bustle of new york
“No complaints”
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Kitano to anyone. The hotel is in a great location, most places in central New York are easy to reach on foot. The room was in an excellent state of repair, as were all the public areas such as the bar, reception area and the loos. Levels of cleanliness are second to none. Didn't use the hotel restaurant, but the service in the bar was great. We will certainly go back to the Kitano when we're in New York next time.
“NYC Peace and quiet close to Grand Central Station”
Fabulous hotel, 2 blocks from Grand Central Station and within easy reach of Bryant Park, Penn Station, and other Mid-Town locations. Staff were polite and courteous and although the hotel is not state of the art chic, it is super clean and has all the room facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel. My 7th floor room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I had to open the windows to hear the passing thunder storm. All in all a great hotel with a wonderfully comfortable bed.
“on returning to New York I would definitely use the same hotel”
The Journey and the Hotel were excellent and very good value. New York was everything and more than I anticipated. I would have no hesitation in recommending the airline, hotel and New York to anyone.
“Excellent NY hotel in mid-town Manhattan”
A very peaceful, centrally placed, well maintained and appointed hotel.
“We loved the Kitano!”
I recently spent four nights at the Kitano with my wife and two teenage children. We had a fabulous time. Our room was clean and comfortable, larger than I expected and had an excellent view of the Empire State Building. The staff were helpful and polite. The hotel dates from the early 70s but is done out in what I would call a mock Art Deco style. I found it delightful. Particularly liked the marbled bathroom and excellent shower. The hotel is in a superb location for exploring midtown Manhattan, an easy five-minute walk from Grand Central Terminal and about 10 minutes from the Empire State. There are plenty of diners, restaurants and delis within easy walking distance. I hope to visit the Kitano again, it is a perfect peaceful base for exploring New York.
“Fantastic Hotel, Fab Location”
The hotel was lovely and the staff were very accommodating. There were 6 of us and we shared two rooms and they were a very good size for NY. The location was great as the area was very quiet at night so we all slept well. We would all stay here again.
“Will look to return”
Good size room (we had a superior double double). Nice and intimate size hotel in great location for my needs. Front desk was particularly helpful. Could have done with coffee in the room as well as green tea but was not a deal-breaker! Tip - if you need to check in online for a flight, they do it quickly and for free at the concierge desk. Glad I asked before paying for wireless connection in the room.
“Fantastic hotel, location and staff!”
The hotel is in a great location, a 5 minute walk from Grand Central station and the Empire State building was just around the corner. The staff were very helpful and friendly, I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay while in New York!
“WOULD RETURN”
The service in the Kitano was exemplary. We had asked for two rooms near each other on the same (high) floor which we received. You could see the Chrysler building from our room and Empire State from kids. very clean and spacious. did not have breakfast there as used Scotty's and Blooms diners round the corner. Very well located. Good sound proofing and a/c. Would not hesitate to reccommend this hotel and would always return here. My daughter would have liked a mirror in bedroom as well as bathroom. Spent hours queing for Empire State - they should consider timed tickets. Top of the Rock was much better, no queues at all and view just as good. NYC city pass for $79 was good value and cut some lines. Had a fabulous time in a fabulous hotel in fabulous city.
