“Great place to stay!”
Great place to stay, the staff were all very professional & kind, the room service was outstanding. The one issue we had was with the bath/shower - it had a shower head at the top but no extendable part, which is something I would've thought should be standard at a Hyatt hotel. If I wanted to just wash my hair in the morning I couldn't - had to go in and have a full on shower. But like I say this is just one niggle, otherwise it was very good, and the food though not on the cheap side, was worth every penny, absolutely delicious. Especially the coffee! Definitely recommended and one I'll visit again in future.
“Pleasantly Surprised”
We chose to stay here so we could be close to Newark Airport after extensive traveling leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday. Friends and relatives scoffed when we mentioned we would be staying in Jersey City, but we had a wonderful stay. Service was excellent (Darlene at the front desk was especially pleasant and helpful) and the room and other amenities were attractive and comfortable. We also had a very good dinner at the Light Horse Tavern, one of the spots listed on the hotel's recommended dining establishments within walking distance. After the comments from local skeptics and our own experience with Jersey City more than 20 years ago, our expectations were low, but we were happily surprised by the upgrades to the city, the quality of the hotel and the availability of good dining in the neighborhood.
“Wonderful Hotel”
I loved this hotel. The view of Manhattan from outside is amazing. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. There's a nice park on the pier next to the hotel that was nice to relax at in the mornings and there is a PATH station right outside, so that was great! If you like New York, but need a place to get away from all the hustle and bustle at the end of the day, this is definitely the perfect hotel for you!
“Fantastic view from the hotel. Great location”
Beautiful hotel with an amazing view of new york. Could see the cruise ships and boats sail by. Had a wonderful pier to walk on. Room was perfect. Only issue we had was when we asked for a cab, they offered a high end towncar and we said we just wanted a cab. They made us wait over 25 mins for it. Overall great location, close to the subway quick way to get to NY.
“Great place to stay for NYC”
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Manhattan/Statue of Liberty view from our room. Staff efficient and helpful, room clean and beds very comfortable. You can hear some noise through the walls. Luckily we had quiet neighbors. Shower a bit quirky! You have to turn dial to cold to get hot water. Breakfast was good and at a reasonable price for continental selection. Convenient for PATH rail link to Manhattan (1 stop) although the trains were not running very efficiently when we stayed. This was due to weekend service and one platform closed for track maintenance. During the week you can use the river taxi which is much more fun!
“Ideal spot for sightseeing”
A lovely smart hotel , ideal for families with spacious rooms and the swimming pool is a bonus, despite the water being a bit cold. The views of Manhattan from this hotel are superb better than staying in Manhatten itself. We could see downtown and the statue of Liberty from our room. The Path train right by the hotel is quick , cheap and easy to use - nearest stop - one only to World Trade Center. Rooms very spacious, clean and comfy.
“Awesome”
I absolutely love the HYATT!!!! We have stayed in 3 Hyatt's in NJ/PA area. I will not stay with any other Hotel. The Staff is wonderful, always smiling and friendly. The overall room is clean and comfortable. We love the beds there (and are considering buying one for our home). I can not say enough about the Hyatt. The Hyatt on the Hudson has the best view. Only downfall was we did stay on the first floor, and woke up to a man fishing in the Hudson River outside our window. He was far enough away to not be looking in the room though. We parked on the street, after 6pm in Jersey City the meters are not in effect until 9am (which worked for us) The neighborhood was great, right in downtown Jersey City near everything!!!! Hotel is next to PATH and Ferry Boats to Manhattan and Light Rail. Super easy to get into and out of the city. Much better than staying in NYC! =) FABULOUS! AWESOME! WONDERFUL! STAY HERE!!!!!!
“Fantastic view and location”
Absolutely superb view from the hotel of Manhatton. The hotel is situated next to a New Jersey subway station which takes you to the World Trade Centre and the New York subway system in less than 5 mins. Hotel rooms are nice but although we booked a non-smoking room ours smelled of cigar smoke. Staff were helpful and offered to change the room but we opted to stay where we were as the view was so good! We booked a room for 4 adults and we were given a double room but the beds were a bit on the small side. However this hotel is a fantastic base for exploring New York and New Jersey with easy access to all the main tourist spots.
“Great hotel”
Good hotel with great location and easy access to transport and NYC. Highly recommended and will stay again on my next visit.
