“Great little Hotel in centre of City”

“Fantastic base for NCY”

The St James is ideal for touring around NYC, it is so near Times Square! there is a great deli (cranberry cafe) and a starbucks next door if you need an early morning coffee and great breakfast. The rooms are very basic but we only used our room to sleep and shower! The rooms at the front of the hotel were noisy due to the proximity to the street and the central location. This should be expected, you can't have everything!

“Perfect Location, Clean with Helpful Staff”

Our needs for a hotel when we come to New York are simple, bed and shower. We don't spend time in our room or the hotel and therefore are not interested in amenities. However, the hotel was clean and the staff was funny and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay. The location is what it the greatest because there is a Starbucks right across the street where we grabbed breakfast each day and then Times Square is at the end of the block. So, you get the closeness to Times Square and shopping and theater without the Marriott price. Understand that it is an older building and the halls are narrow and the elevators are small, but who cares? It met our needs perfectly, and we will be staying there again next time we go.

“Value all round”

This is a fantastic hotel i would think it impossible to find more value for money in NYC than this. Location is perfect the price is a steal and the staff are friendly. As a bonus the deli next door is a fantastic. You simply can't go wrong with this place, don't believe the bad reviews you wont regret booking a stay here.

“Good Service with acceptable staying conditions, Impressed!”

The hotel room was bigger than we expected considering the location and price. We knew it was an old hotel so we compromised with the old style heating system that was the steam type. Gives the hotel some character. Location was fantastic, right at Times Square, which is always a plus when staying in New York City. Everyone wants to be there! We will definitely stay there again and will recommend the hotel to our friends.

“Reasonably priced hotel at Times Square”

Pros: The hotel is located very close to the center of Times Square and offers reasonable price. Cons: Minimum facilities and amenities. (e.g. no desk in the room).
