“Great location for shopping in NYC”
Good service and location, clean comfortable although small room, close to Macy's, fashion district and other shopping, as well as to UN offices.
“Great hotel”
The service was excellent. I lost my phone and we had our provider overnight us a phone to the hotel with no problems. The location of hotel was great. The continental breakfast was good. The room was small but ok.
“Very nice hotel in fantastic location”
The hotel is right in the Fashion Avenue of NYC. All the major shops and restaurants are very nearby within walking distance. Although there is construction going on in the next building, we were not affected by the noise. This might also be because we visited during the Thanksgiving holidays when most people were off work. The standard double-bed room we had was small but comfortable. One thing we didn't like is that the restaurant next to the hotel always piled up loads of rubbish in front of their shop. The rubbish was not cleared promptly and that could attract mice, rats and other pests. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
“Great value, location and totally impressed”
I wasn't sure what to expect with this hotel, but man, was I impressed. It was super clean, the staff was great and totally accommodating, it had a vintage vibe to it which I loved and I felt comfortable and at home the entire stay. I liked that it wasn't in Times Square, but close enough for a nice walk to that area. The subway entrance was literally only a half block making the location totally convenient and accessible. i couldn't have asked for better location considering there were so many restaurants and shops (hello Macy's!) within the block. The continental breakfast was a nice touch and a great option to have in the morning. Bottom line: totally impressed, felt like I got my money's (for what you pay in NYC), and definitely pleased. I will return for sure.
“clean and well located”
No complaints about this hotel. The rooms are a little small but they are clean and comfortable. The restaurant is also very good.
“Fantastic location, awesome free breakfast, great price”
We came to NY to see Phantom of the Opera, have a few cocktails and a nice dinner without the kids. Hotel Metro was a great price (by NY standards), within walking distance of Broadway, Times Square, Bryant Park and 2 blocks from Macy's. While I'm not big on continental breakfasts, Hotel Metro's was an extremely pleasant surprise (and definitely saved us another $40). Our room was spacious and spotless, and the hotel has a lot more Big Apple charm than the Hilton or Hampton Inn on the same block. Service was very effecient and friendly. I would certainly recommend staying here.
“I don't recomend this hotel”
The hotel was well locate. It was cleaned but the room and the bed were very small. My husband could not sleep because the bed was too small. I don not recommend this hotel.
“Good hotel. Excellent location.”
My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Hotel Metro at the end of September '11. Overall, this is a good hotel at a correct price for NY. Very clean and pleasant room with competent personnel. The breakfast (included) is reasonnable and is served in a modern decor. The location cannot be more central with plenty of good restaurants around and all possible activities on foot. The only drawback is the noise created by the renovation of 3 buildings beside the hotel. Very noisy from 5 in the morning, even on Saturday. These renovations will probably be completed by Summer '12. Will go back for sure.
“Good value, good location, cute hotel. Very impressed”
This hotel is great value for money - smack bang in the centre of New York, near a tube station. The hotel has a 1920's theme with Sinatra playing and pictures everywhere. It's lovely. The rooms are very small but the amenities in the room make up for the size - new showers, nice toiletries, comfy bed, Ipod docking station. We were upgraded to the 12th floor which was lovely. There's a roof bar overlooking the Empire State building and the staff were great. The prices were the most reasonable I could find for a good location. Breakfast was muffins, bagels, yoghurt and toast - adequate and nice. Breakfast felt like you were in a library in the 1920s. Pick this hotel for value for money and location - right on 5th Avenue, nr the Empire State and right in the middle of Manhattan so you can walk everywhere. I'm a television journalist and stay everywhere all over the world but this will definitely be my New York hotel every time I go back.
“Convinient small hotel”
Across from Macy's Department Store, very convenient to most of the attractions, but rooms are tight for 2 people and limited services are offered. Would recommend single travelers, not for family/couples.
