“great location ...”

great location, minutes from Time Square, theaters, Radio City. 20 minute walk to Central Park. Room was small, but we only slept there, and it had a very compfortable mattress. Staff was über helpful and friendly. Recommend Via Brazil for lunch or dinner, and the Red Flame Diner for a traditional breakfast ... (the lineup moves fast)

“not impressed”

Certainly not four-star, would struggle to get three in most countries. Our supposedly "executive" room was small and had minimal additional facilities. Windows looked onto a brick wall. Hot water ran out by 8.30 on 2 of 3 mornings. No on-site dining. On the positive side, room was clean and bed comfortable, convenient for Times Sq/ theatres. However, poor value for the price.

“Location, Location brilliant”

We had a twin bed deluxe room which was excellent and large compared to other New York Hotels. The location is amazing, less than one minute walk down the street and you are in the centre of Times Square. (But the room was very quiet at night). Found all the staff really friendly and very helpful. The bistro next door is wonderfull. Would recommend this hotel to anybody.

Area recommendations

Must go up the Rockerfeller Centre, better than the Empire State. Boat trip also worth doing and of course the Helicopter trip.

“A fake luxury hotel”

This hotel was touted as a three or four star hotel on expedia. It's not even close. It's an old SRO rooming house that got a little face lift, but It's not designed to be a luxury hotel. The rooms are ridiculously tiny and depressing and the mini bar is designed so if you even move one of the items you get charged for it. Unsuccessful on all counts. Sorry.

“Great Find”

We have just returned from out 7th visit to NYC . Have used several different Hotels previously.Hotel Mela is in a great location and is perfect for those who wish to have a central Mid Town location.Rooms are not the biggest but are very bstylish and comfortable.Will use again .

Go to the Meatpacking / Chelsea district and use the Highline.

IMPRESSED WITH THE CLEANLINESS AND VERY SATIFIED WITH SERVICE. THE ROOMS ARE QUITE SMALL BUT THE BED WAS EXCELLENT.

EVERYTHING BELLOW 100TH STREET AND BETWEEN FIRST AND EIGHT AVENUE. THESE ARE OF MORE TURISTIC AND SHOPPING INTEREST. OF COURSE LIBERTY ISLAND, YANKEE STADIUM AND GROUNF ZERO MUST BE INCLUDED.

“good position new york hotel”

This is a small hotel which fill all your needs for a few days in New York.It is in a great spot only just off Times Square.The staff are great and very helpful.The room was a touch small but so were the Essex House and The Waldorf when we used them.If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel then you could do far worse than stay here

“Excellent Hotel”

I stayed at this hotel with my mum for four nights and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were friendly and were happy to assist. The location was fantastic - just off Times Square and within walking distance to Fifth Avenue and other great spots. There were lots of lovely places to eat and drink.
