They really understand service

Posted 26-Jul-2014
Pros: The service
Cons: Nothing
Hotel is very conveniently located in midtown east. Walking distance to many key attractions, and a short subway ride to everywhere else. The best feature was the outstanding and attentive service by the hotel staff. They really practice what we think of as "old fashioned service." The room was comfortable. It was a little small, but not very small by NY standards. I don't care, I use my hotel room to sleep and shower and little else. We were traveling with an infant, and all requests for a crib, extra towels, and really anything else we asked for were taken care of immediately and with a smile.

Quiet and Convenient

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Pros: the staff are very nice and the hotel is very quiet at night.
Cons: One elevator was broken so that service was a bit slower
Location: Empire State, Flatiron District, Fifth Ave, Madison Ave.
We had stayed there before and although the hotel is a littler smaller the staff are friendly and helpful the rooms are quiet and we like the neighborhood. When I go back to NY I will stay there again.

Cons: Only had two elevators and the bigger one wasn't working so it ended up taking a long time to get to and from the room but this was only a small gripe
Super nice staff, very flexible and friendly. Rooms clean and pleasant and in a convenient location.

Very clean, nice hotel

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Great location, very close to subway line 6. I was blown away by the cleanliness of this hotel. All of the staff was friendly. However, my king size bed was actually 2 twin beds put together and the shower head was not from the ceiling, as described online. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay. I stayed on a Saturday night and the walls are thick, so I never heard my neighbors make a peep. I'd stay here again!

Great find in fabulous location!

Pros: Location -access to subway and penn station for LIRR quiet very friendly staff, always greeted you everyday
Cons: not a thing
Location: madison square garden is a 10 minute walk, as is the penn station for LIRR we walked to union square, soho, times square, empire state
We stayed at Hotel Chandler for 2 nights and would definitely stay again! We were greeted promptly, able to check in early (noon) and they upgraded our room, free of charge. Our room was on the 6th floor and it had nice big windows and was very quiet. We heard no street traffic at all. Very clean in room and common areas. Beds are comfy and good pillows. Towels are thick and very soft :) 24/7 coffee/tea service in lobby (free). I needed access to a scanner for a last minute business transaction and they went above and beyond to help me and I got the document sent within minutes.

Nice two day stay.

Posted 11-Jul-2014
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, clean room, good location.
Cons: Nothing, really. Room a bit small but given its location it was fine. A/C might be a bit loud for sensitive sleepers.
Location: Two blocks from the Empire State building. My room was interior so I heard nothing of traffic or street noises.
Had a two day stay waiting for my flight back home from vacation. Everything was great. Really enjoyed the hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

nice hotel

Posted 02-Jul-2014
I asked for my Elite upgrade and the woman assured me that it was done and that i had a very nice room. I don't know about the other rooms but i had a very basic room and when i told her she replied that i have a very nice view of of the street. In fact, i was right across a work site and the morning at 7h11, the works began with an horrible noise. I guess the upgrade was a joke.

Great refuge in a busy city.

Posted 01-Jul-2014
Pros: We liked that it is a smaller hotel with more personal service.
Cons: The room and bathroom are small, as can be expected when you pay a reasonable amount in an expensive city. There is construction across the street.
Location: We were able to manage our dining and sightseeing conveniently from this location.
We spent eight comfortable nights at Hotel Chandler while sightseeing in the city. It was a great centrally located hotel. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Concierge services were available and complimentary tea and coffee was always available in the lobby. Our 4th floor room was located on the front of the hotel. It was clean and well appointed. We appreciated the attention to detail including the great towels, bed, bedding and complimentary toiletries. There was turn down service each evening and a bar fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, Wi-Fi and flat screen TV.
