“DO NOT GO”
THE HOTEL WAS ONE STEP UP FROM A PROSTITUTE HOTEL. FILTHY, STAFF NEEDS A COURSE IN HOSPITALITY
“Inconvenient but nice staff”
The hotel rooms are extremely small and inconveniently laid out. It is a major challenge to do anything, including walk, if there are 2 people in the room. Our room was not cleaned one day, and the towels not replaced another. They need more parking - they share the site with the Comfort Inn and and are building a third hotel at the same site, which will reduce parking even further. The entire staff is very friendly and professional. They offer a better than usual hot breakfast and the breakfast hosts were charming and accomodating. The hotel is clean overall, but appears to need better training for the housekeeping staff. Staten Island needs more hotels (we usually stay in Jersey) and I hope this one will improve.
“Staten Island Visit July 2011”
Overall the experience was good, however there were some negative things. First of all we had to beg everyday to get towels. The hotel sends their laundry out for processing, and just about everyday we were short hand towels, and bath towels. When a request was made for towels at the front desk the response was "they haven't come back from the service provider". On every case this was after 10:00 PM local time, and some times as late as mid-night. The other issue was the cleanness of the room. On the surface everything appeared OK, but we found socks, food, and bags left from the previous occupants. There was an attempt to vacuum the floor, but NO attempt was made to vacuum past the edge of the bedspreads. There was a fair amount of leftover food, and crumb just under where the bedspreads would cover. The final thing was the elevator. The Hotel only has one elevator, and it's SLOOOOOOOOW, you are must better take the stairways then waiting for the elevator. On the positive side, the Hotel was clean, the front desk personal were VERY HELPFUL, and the breakfast food was good. The kids really enjoyed the pancake machine. Would I stay again at this Hotel, yes......
“Stinky shower curtains and staff”
This was the second time staying at this hotel in the last four months. The shower curtains smell so terribly that it stinks up the whole hotel room. Some staff members need to concentrate on their hygiene as well. The bathroom door squeaky loudly as well.
“Very Pleasant Stay”
I was very satisfied overall with the hotel and I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Staten Island, NY
“Nice hotel but far from NY”
The hotel is in excellent condition with the friendly stuff. The room was not so big, but it was very clean with comfortable beds. Free breakfast, is definitely a nice bonus, however, don't expect much. The quality of it for my test was same as McDonalds if not even worse (the eggs was tasteless and the yogurt warm). But the main issue was the location. Even though we had a car, we spend almost an 1.5 hours each way to get to the city. + there is no 24 hour parking near Staten Island Ferry (it was close for renovation or smth), so we had to ride to Brooklyn and leave the car there. I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs to stay in Staten Island, but if you are mainly interested in NY, maybe you should consider the closer location.
“Nice hotel”
I liked the hotel. It was clean, rooms were nice but very narrow. Not much room to walk around. Free breakfast, was a nice bonus. Not just bagels and danishes, it also had hot food.
“Good as expected”
Very good
“SI express”
Rooms were comfortable, Breakfast was better than expected. would recommend to anyone who needs to stay on Staten Island , Convient to get into Brooklyn and New Jeresy
“A Pleasant Experience”
I read the other reviews of this hotel before checking in so I was somewhat prepared for what to expect. Hotel is in excellent condition since it is so new, but as others have mentioned, the rooms are cramped. We had two double beds and there was little room to get around. There is no closet, just a small wardrobe cabinet to hang clothes, and a 3-drawer dresser, so most of our stuff stayed in luggage. We stayed on the second floor, which was pretty quiet. The free breakfast was nice with cheese omelets, sausage, cereals, cinnamon rolls, etc, but it was the same offerings all 5 days we were there. It would have been nice if they alternated with scrambled eggs & bacon as their literature had mentioned. One of the staffers who services the cafe--Stephen--was fantastic! He really took pride in his job and was always on top of stocking the food, cleaning up and taking care of the guests. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and helpful, which we appreciated, because good customer service seems hard to find these days. The location is fine, as you can easily get to the expressway, or get right on Victory Blvd, which runs all the way down to to the other end of S.I. where the ferry is located. There is a small shopping center in walking distance with a Wendy's, Italian restaurant, bowling center and a couple other businesses. Overall, we were very satisfied and I would consider staying there again.
