“Perfect Hotel - Do-Able location”

Stayed at the Waldorf for 4 days and then decided to save some $ and stay at this hotel, I was VERY PLEASANTLY surprised ! The staff were very attentive and the room service was reasonable - rooms were very clean and I saved A TON !!! Just relax and count on taking time to get from Jersey to NY.

Getting around
The hotel is in New Jersey and all the action is in NY - It'll cost you $30/round trip on the train or ~$75/one way via taxi ~ to go to NY. The hotel shuttle service will run all day and night (to get from hotel to airport - where you can hop on the train) although the train schedule is at times confusing. There are 3 trains that'll get you back to the Airport from NY - the staff at the train station (Penn Station in NY at Madison Square Garden) are not very helpful although the representatives at the Airport were VERY helpful (and they didn't accept tips - very unusual for me, having just left the Waldorf)

“Ok for the money”

Ok for the money however given I booked this hotel to be convenient for Newark airport after a transatlantic flight and ahead of an early flight next morning, there was just too much agro getting to and from the terminal on the shuttle. Shuttle took far too long. Good burger in the bar though.

“Convinient for business travel”

It is not as comfortable as it should be, but the Hotel is conveniently located for business travelers that have to use Newark Airport, price-service relation is Ok.

“good, clean and convenient for Newark airport.”

I booked this hotel to recover after travelling a while and before the final leg home. It was very convenient for newark airport which was the main point. I'd go back again if i needed a stop gap whilst travelling through NYC. The staff were friendly and it had a good shuttle bus to help you get to and from the airport and to connect with transport in to the city

“Good Value for Overnighter”

Friendly counter staff, good food compared to some US hotels, excellent high speed internet facilities, though it had to be paid for. At first I was surprised at the charge as it is usually free at this level of hotel. However the no-hassle super-fast speeds were worth the $10 I paid for 1 day access. The two different Hiltons - Newark & Penn Station - were a bit confusing at the shuttle, so make sure you get the right one. My room was comfy, not super smart but stately, with the faintest trace of perhaps being an ex-smoking floor in a previous life. A non-smoker will always know that stuff. But spotlessly clean, swift room service. I just wanted to sleep in a reputable place after a long-haul flight and the Hilton was good value for that.

“Handy for Newark Airport”

Ideal location for Newark Airport, would be no other reason to stay there ! Hotel receptionist rather flirty with my husband but got to brighten your day I suppose!

“Two of the Front Desk Agents were terrible! otherwise pleasant stay....”

Long story short - they didnt have my reservation, they made me get off the line and call my travel agent.. 40 minutes later, all was cleared up but, no apologies by the Front desk agents.. they seemed very unhappy about working there or were anti-social.. terrible!! They called the guests on the line over with ' next person, then grunt in frustration" cant make this up - did deal with other Front Desk people and they were great.. also, the restaurant staff and food will suprise you.. very good - Housekeeping does a good job cleaning but are very noisy in the hallways.. on a scale of 1------10 ...... a strong 6 maybe 7

they got a pool and jacuzzi .. the pool is only three and a half feet of water but very nice size with a decent view.. Jacuzzi was nice and clean

“Great but not for price”

The expedia package for this offered free breakfast for both mornings that we were there. We gave the number of people going and they gave us only 2 free coupons with the offer. Instead of per room which it clearly stated. We did not recieve the free breakfast the second day and the price for breakfast was 18 dollars! This was by far the most dissapointing thing about the hotel.

“Close to EWR”

Hilton Newark is a convenient hotel if you have to stay close to the airport. For a Hilton it's showing signs of age and is not your typical Hilton standard. It is a 3 stars in my book. However it is clean, quiet, safe and the beds are comfortable. Staff was friendly. Access from EWR is easy, take the free Air Train between Terminals and get out at P4 from there the free shuttle picks you up and within 10 mins you are at the hotel Price wise it is at par with other hotel of the same quality in the area. The food is average and a little overpriced. II was on a course for a few days and had to stay within proximity of EWR so it did the job. I got the lobby to call me a cab and I got a limo from the hotel. So specify you want a real cab or prepare to pay. If I had to do it again II would probably stay at the Hampton next door witch is still a Hilton Property or at the Marriott right at the airport witch is a little more expensive.
