“Really comfy, clean hotel in a great location”
The hotel is located a few blocks from grand central station and on the same street (E42nd) as the Chrysler building so each day you get to stroll past on your way to the station. The hotel room was really nice and the beds a ridiculously comfy which is really what you need after a long day of walking around. We had no problems with the servcie and check in/out was fast. Good location, Nice hotel, definately worth a visit!
“Great Location”
After reading some of the reviews I was a bit worried the hotel but there was no need to be. The hotel is in a great location we were able to walk everywhere and for those attractions that weren't in wlking distance we got the subway from Grand Central Station. Our room was on the small side although the time we did spend in the room was very comfortable. Everyething was clean and as we stayed for a week our bed linen was changed regularly. The air conditoning was noisy at night but that is my only complaint. We received breakfast in our room rate which entitlied us to continental breakfast every morning, we were able to choosse from fresh fruit, yoghurts, cerelas, muffins, toast and bagels. It was a great way to start the day and all we needed. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again...hopefully soon!!
“Pleasantly surprised”
Having read a variety of reviews about New York hotels - noisy air conditioning, smallness of rooms, unhelpful staff - I wasn't expecting a lot from the hotel. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. We had a double room for ourselves and our 16 year old son with plenty of space, reliable air conditioning, and even tea-making facilities (essential for my husband's well-being!). Breakfasts were good (remember to ask for the vouchers first) and staff were friendly and helpful. Overall we were more than satisfied with our stay at the Hilton Manhattan.
“Great value hotel”
We were really pleased with the Hilton Manhattan East during our three night stay for the price we paid. We'd expected the room to be small as we'd seen previous reviews but we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the King size room. We were very comfortable throughout the stay, the room was kept very clean, and as we were on the 8th floor we had no problem with traffic noise. The staff were also very friendly. We would happily go back and stay there again.
“Perfectly-located base for tourists to NYC”
We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Manhattan East. It's within walking distance of most of the major tourist attractions, but if you don't fancy walking, you can get a cab very easily from Second Avenue. The hotel room was simple and certainly not on the large side, but it was clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced. The perfect base for tourists, like ourselves, who spend more time exploring the city than staying in the room.
“good location”
Good location, only 15 mins walk from Times Square. Nice to get breakfast for the price, means your ready to go for the day. Staff ready to help when needed. Would recommend for those wanting a convenient place to stay for a good price.
“Central to all of New York's sights”
Hotel great with welcoming staff. Alternate room found when we arrived just before 3pm - in good location. Although it could have been cleaned a little better (the dust had been there a long time - perhaps the hoover was broken), the sheets were changed regularly and we had plenty of large towels for a family of four. The room is not huge but how much time should you spend there when you are visiting New York to see the sights. Bar and restaurant were expensive but nice atmosphere. Concierge staff could not have been more helpful - looking after luggage, arranging taxis, Shuttles and keeping us informed. Altogether well recommended.
“Very pleased with hotel both comfort and service”
Very pleased with our stay at the hotel. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. the hotel was good size and ususual in design and beneffited from not having long corridors with people up and down. Would recommend this hotel to others.
“Good value for money”
Very near to the United Nations. Relatively quiet. Good location also to Crysler Building. Would stay again.
“Will be back !!”
This was a suprise trip for my husband, to celibrate our 30th wedding anniversary. My husband was a seaman in the 60's and sailed in to New York from Liverpool on the cruise liners He hasn't been back since. We had a brilliant time looking for places he remembered after all this time, as well as visiting all the 'landmarks'. We are totally exhausted now and could do with another 'holiday' to recover!
