“Great service”
Amidst the holiday hustle and bustle we were greeted by staff at every level with smiling faces and cheerful demeanors. This was most welcome after a hectic arrival to NYC. Our room was clean and tasteful. Also a decent size for NYC. Though the rating of this hotel is only 3 stars and the price moderate it definietly competes with some of the best 4 star NYC hotels we've stayed in. I would highly recommend this hotel.
“Girls Weekend”
I was responsible for the Hotel choice for the "Girls Weekend". I chose this particular hotel due in part to the reputation of the name. The location was very nice - close to the subway and not far from Macy's. The Bellmen always made us feel so good when we came back to the hotel as they ALWAYS greeted us and welcomed us back. The front desk staff could use a few more happy pills - but most were nice - IF I needed to speak to someone I just waited til one of the nice ones was on duty. The only true down side was the bartender who filled us in on the "Dirt" of the current management - that was Really out of place as we were paying for a fun weekend (Friday - Monday) and did not need to hear of her complaints. She needs to find a new job if she hates it so much!!
“Definitely close to everything and a CLEAN hotel in NY”
The hotel was a clean hotel and had nice rooms. it was close to everywhere we wanted to go, like museums and dinner, shopping and nigh clubs. not walking distance but a quick cab right.
“GREAT LOCATION AND BEAUTIFUL TOO!”
Last minute trip found GREAT price and very nice hotel only a few blocks from Madison Square Garden! My family was very impressed by the breakfast. I wasn't hungry but my teen said "It was the beast breakfast I've EVER had". (Not including her mother's cooking of course.) The room was very well maintained, clean and VERY comfortable. Loved it!!!
“The Garden Inn in the heart of Chelsea's flower district”
Although Chelsea can look a little rough around the edges it really is a great neighborhood. It is relatively quiet at night and perfectly situated between Midtown and SoHo/Downtown. The streets can feel a little dark at night but I can't say that I have ever felt insecure. The Hilton Garden Inn is conveniently located near red line subway service. The staff was quite friendly and the rooms well appointed. We had a very nice view of the Midtown skyline from our room. One thing to note, if you have not been to NYC before, hotel rooms are smaller than the average American hotel (it is more like Europe). Even new high rise hotels like the Hilton Garden Inn have relatively small rooms, it’s a crowed place with high real-estate costs, it is what it is. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
“Hidden gem”
Hilton Garden Inn/Chelsea NY is a quiet, small hotel minutes from busy Herald Sq. Friendly staff at welcome, modern room with beautiful, soft towels and bedding, microwave and refrigerator. Lovely street in the morning with all the flower vendors. Stouffers for sale in the pantry, but also room service and restaurants half a block away. Cozy bar on first floor. Would definitely stay again.

“What a find!”
I found the Hilton Garden Inn New York/Chelsea to be the perfect get away! It was an easy 3 block walk from Penn Station. It is located in the flower district so my nose was greeted by lovely fragrances and the sidewalks were lined with greenery galore. The staff was wonderful...available, knowledgeable, smiling, helpful! Travis even had a pass to get us through the hour wait to buy tickets to the top of the Empire State Bldg. The room wasn't huge--the only congested area was between the foot of the bed and the desk. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room, so you could take advantage of the frozen foods/snacks available in the lobby. The bathroom were and room gave every impression of being brand new & were nicely appointed. The bed and linens were wonderful...hated to get up! The staff was more than happy to hold our luxury until midnight the day of our departure, so we could continue to sightsee even after the noon checkout. Champagne luxury at house wine prices! Can't wait to go back!
“Good Stay”
This was our fourth stay in Manhattan since June 2010. We like to stay in a different location each time so as a result I can say that the HGI compares favourably to the other 3-4 star hotels we stayed at. Clean, comfortable and good location a great value given it was well priced when we booked.
“Clean But Not Convenient”
The hotel is very clean and comfortable (which is great!!!!) but for those of you interested in sightseeing in mid-town manhattan (and who do not have, or do not want to take, other means of transportation) it is a very long walk for most attractions (with the exception of Macy's and the Empire State Building). Also, the street on which the hotel is located looks a bit rundown, so the neigborhood is not exactly pleasing to the eye. However, the price is very reasonable (comparatively speaking) so if you cannot afford the rates of hotels near Times Square, I highly recommend this hotel.
