“EXCELLENT Value - great hotel!”
They have thought of every thing here. Rooms are large and very comfy. Full size sofa, nice TV. Coffee maker in a nice shelf in the bathroom. Microwave and fridge in every room. Very comfortable bedding. Huge bathroom with large grantie countertops and lots of hooks to hang wet towels and clothes. The lobby area is very open and light and comfortable, along with having a great free hot breakfast in the morning. Only request would be to make some rooms have two doubles instead of one king. Decided right away to make this our place to stay for college graduation weekend.
“Great bargain”
This was an excellent hotel. The room was immaculant and very comfortable. This hotel is an excellent option for anyone visiting New York. There is a courtesy shuttle that takes you to the Staten Island Ferry, but we didn't use it. It was very convenient to pay for parking at the ferry and take the ferry to and from New York everyday. We will definately stay here again as there was way too much to see in New York in three days.
“Very impressed”
The front desk personnel were very friendly, the breakfast area was better than most we have encountered (VERY roomy), the hotel was clean and well-maintained, and when the pool wasn't available, the one next door at the Hilton usually was. We stayed here and rode the ferry to Manhattan every day, and that got tiring after about the third day, but it beat paying the high prices in Manhattan, and with our kids, a pool is a necessity. I would recommend this hotel both for value and comfort. I usually have a hard time sleeping while on vacation, but the bed here was one of the most comfortable I've been in away from home. It was also very quiet, even with a youth baseball team staying at the same time. We would stay here again if we were coming to NYC.
“Shower door”
Hello: We were very happy to stay at your hotel. The shower door in the room is very worn and should be replaced. The handles are coming off and it will not slide easily. Best, Larry T.
“Just too far out”
This hotel was very modern and clean. The breakfast was hearty and plentiful. It's location let it down. A half hour drive to the Staten Island ferry. The free shuttle services wasn't always available, even when enquiring a day ahead. Although it said free airport transfers this was to Newark airport only. The swimming pool was tiny and only open for a few hours during our stay. The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly.
“OK hotel”
clean, nothing special
“Great Hotel, other were guests less desirable”
This is a lovely hotel. We had issues with a noisely neighbors, we were forced to call the front desk about them at 4am. Our room A/C unit rattled but it was the guests next door that ruined a good nights sleep. They were very inconsiderate.
“great hotel, need to plan well for travel to and from manhatten”
we really enjoyed our stay. the hotel is not plush, but it is very comfortable and caters for all your needs, at a fantastic rate. it is situated about half an hour from the staten island ferry. the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle, but you must book early and not always convenient to pre book a pick up time in the evening. after investigation we found the 46/96 bus from the ferry port stopped outside the hotel.the ferry is free and easy to use and the number 1 train starts from outside the ferry on the manhatten side, so easy to get into the centre, to see all the sights.all the staff were very helpful, there is free breakfast and comfy beds. there is also a gym and swimming pool. there is no bar or restaurant, but you can go to the sister hotel on the same site. The sister hotel is a much higher spec and i am sure most people will like it, but it didnt suit us, as we found it a little pompus and over priced. there a few nearby mall's and plaza's which you will find most types of food to eat but you will need to take a seven minute taxi ride.If you decide to rent a car, it is easy to get to the hotel and you can park at the staten island ferry easily. Make sure you fly into Newark airport. Overall, we will definatley stay there again.
“would recommend this hotel to anyone, love staying there !!!”
I cant say enough good about this hotel as it excels in everything, the only down side is you have to travel to get into the city but then again the hotel runs a free shuttle which is best to book the night before to the ferry and the ferry is free (plus you get to see the statue of liberty etc on the crossing) and then you are there in the city, for the little inconvenience of the travel what you save on the hotel makes it more then worthwhile, would recommend to anyone, I travel to New York often and always chose this hotel,
“" My ONLY Hotel choice for Staten Island "”
It's always a pleasure staying at the Hampton Inn Suites Staten Island. It's our preferred hotel. The surrounding Hotel area is always clean. Parking is never an issue. The Concierge are always warm, friendly, and helpful. The Hotel itself is by far one of the nicest we have stayed in. The Suites are comfortable, clean, and ready upon arrival. The indoor heated pool is always clean, safe (with a lifeguard) and a treat for my kids. the Continental Breakfast is ok. It may not be 5-Star, but still a nice treat nontheless. Overall I will definitely recommend the Hampton Inn Suites Staten Island to anyone visiting NYC.
