“Good value comfortable Suite Hotel”

Good value. Comfortable with loads of space. Apartment style accommodation with full kitchen. Bathroom small and not too well appointed. Staff very helpful and responsive. Good location close to Grand Central, easy walk or subway to shops and attractions.No in house dining but decent nearby restaurants, diners, delis and supermarkets.Have visited several times and will return. Only complaint on this occasion was that in room wi-fi was very unreliable.

“superb location great hotel”

stayed for one week.great location, near all attractions good diner 5 mins away on 2nd avenue and a great selection of pubs/reataraunts on 3rd avenue.l wil definately return.

“Average hotel”

The primary drawback of this hotel for me is the amount of noise made by constantly slamming doors, day or night. The night I was there, people were slamming their doors repeatedly at 2 a.m. and shouting in the hallway. The slamming continues in the morning and, while you may be awake, it makes it difficult to read, watch TV or listen to music. The chambermaid rang my bell early in the morning and woke me up. She wanted to know what time I was checking out! The best aspect of this hotel is the location.

Area recommendations

Midtown East or Upper East Side. Convenience and quality of neighborhoods.

“Fabulous for families with young children”

We traveled to New York City over Thanksgiving weekend and took 2 rooms - one junior suite for a family of 3 with a 2yo, and one double queen suite for a second family with two school age kids. The rooms were ginormous by Manhattan standards. The best part was the full kitchen with burners and a microwave and toaster oven. We were able to prepare breakfast right in our rooms and that allowed us to have a much more relaxed and healthy vacation. Highly recommended for other families with young children!

“A decent hotel at a convenient location - within 10 min walk of most places”

This hotel offered us a spacious room with - especially for New York. The bed was comfertable and large. A clean room with good air conditioning. The location is fairly central, with only a 10 minute walk to times square. I would consider staying here again if I were to return to New York in the near future.

Getting there

Once there, we had pre booked a shuttle service shared mini bus from the airport and for our return. This turned out much cheaper that it would have been to use a taxi for this service. However, taxi prices were very resonable for getting around the city itself.

Getting around

As long as you are happy to walk for a while, most places are close. We took a taxi down to the financial district and back but walked everywhere ellse - We were staying on 39th Street.

“Solid choice for families and couples traveling together.”

We were given a 2-bedroom suite with kitchen on the 20th floor. The various rooms were spacious and comfortable. This would be a great place to stay with friends and/or relatives.

“Good size room for the cost”

Rooms were unremarkable, but much larger than other hotels I have stayed at in midtown. Additionally, the room had a full kitchen and two bathrooms and are great for groups of people or families. I live in the suburbs, and being that it was a 5 minute walk from grand central station it worked perfect. Also, several of the other people in my party flew into Laguardia, and said the taxi ride was less than 15 minutes for around $15.00. Honestly, paying for a 5 star hotel is nice, but how much time does anyone spend in their room if they're going to be in NYC? Oh, and NO trace or reports of beg bugs!

Village, East village, Meatpacking, Rockefeller Center for bars Little Italy is getting smaller, I could only find a few (less than 10) Italian restaurants in that area), Chinatown's getting bigger

“Maybe would recommend.”

Lobby is too small and too many people were waiting to be taken care of. Not enough staff for influx of people. Neighborhood is too commercial, busy, and dirty, and noisy. A homeless person was sleeping in the patio which we looked over from our window. It was nice having a studio tho.

“Clean and Comfortable”

The Eastgate was very reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. Would stay there again without hesitation. The room was larger than I expected!
