There are new and exciting changes that we'll soon be undergoing, specifically our rooms renovation which is scheduled for completion in May 2012. “Bad service”

I had to wait long till i could speak with the reception although there were 4 members there,and it wasn't crowded,after i did the check in i had to go out cause the room wasn't free, which wasn't a big problem for me but i should keep the Languages in the hotel and i had to pay 4 $ as storage fees ,which i found really disappointed. Dollars. when i came back i had to wait again for about 20 minutes cause the employee didn't know where are the Keys. as well i have noticed that some Guests have got Cookies as a welcome Gift ,which we haven't got and i couldn't Know why! I expected better service from this Hotel.

i believe you can spend so good time everywhere in NYC, it is really a very nice city i recommend to visit it

The hotel does charge a luggage storage fee of $2 per checked bag as we have limited storage space and we will be sure to review our check in practices with our team based on your feedback. A warm, Doubletree chocolate chip cookie is our signature welcome and no guest should not receive one during their stay. “Great location”

Originally reserved a room with one queen, asked for upgrade and cheerfully received it, no charge. Room is dated but it was clean. The bathroom door did not close tight but all in all pleased with room. The location is excellent, coffee shop next door is good and reasonable. I thought it was a bargain for New York and it's location. Would stay again.

“Good hotel great location!”

Room was big but basic, great bed, location was amazing. 5 star spot-3 star room - must be how they got their 4 star rating!

“Bed too soft, sheets to rough”

The location of the hotel is very good. It is clean and has a good service. But my neck and back suffered a lot. The bed was extremely soft. It offered no support at all. As if the mattress was very old. The sheets were very rough. My elbows got hurt when I changed position while sleeping.

“Not Great”

Hotel room carpeting was worn and dirty. Shampoo smells like citronella. Ac did not work only heater and it was already hotter than hell.

“For the money, about as good as you can do in NYC.”

For the money, about as good as you can do in NYC. My only complaints are that there is a $15 charge for internet service and a $2 per bag charge for storage on the day of check-out, which, though not unusual, speaks to a bit of a money grab.

Area recommendations

The East Village is one of the great neighborhoods for food, culture, art, and partying. The West Village is also fun, but it is a bit more gentrified.

the hotel didn't have a refrigerator nor microwave, and at the time we received a notice that the heat would be off for several hours, when inquired they only have us one blanket and1 heater.

“will always come back :))”

arrive early and was greeted by four staff members. Was able to check in ealry and was comped an upgrade. Great location in the middle of manhattan and next to a subway. Second stay and will come back for a third !
