Six nights in New York

Posted 12-Sep-2014
Location: It is in middle Manhattan, Time Square, The Hop on Hop off Water Taxi and the Metro
We wanted to be close to Time Square and this was Four blocks away. It borders on Hells Kitchen which is a little sleezy. The hotel has complimentary snacks at their happy hour. The Staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Great hotel great location

Posted 09-Sep-2014
I stayed here for four nights in September to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday. Room was great, spacious with two lovely comfy double beds. Staff could not have been anymore helpful, very friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent hotel

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: Room was clean and comfortable and hotel very central
Location: Location was close to Times Square and just around the corner from taxi rank, buses and subway so it was easy to get to other city attractions
Enjoyed our stay at the Distrikt Hotel. Staff we're very helpful and friendly. Hotel was well situated, close to Times Square, with easy access to taxis, buses and subways. Would definitely recommend to others.

Nice Hotel

Posted 07-Sep-2014
Location: Location is across from Port Authority Bus Terminal, street down from NY Times building. Couple of sketchy places on block, but safe.
Close to Times Square, Hell Kitchen eateries, Broadway shows. Small hotel, small rooms, but clean, and great staff

Location was great. Staff helped us plan our daily

Would have given all 5s , except the fire alarms went off twice in the middle of the nite, by accident we were told!! Already jetlagged, missing sleep was hard, especially without an apology.

Good location, mediocre hotel.

Posted 02-Sep-2014
The staff is under-trained and a little unprofessional not only for NYC standards, but also for Toronto standards. The room is very average/nothing special. Unfortunately, not even water was supplied in the rooms. You have to pay for water, which is ridiculous. On top of that, when I turned the tap on in my bathroom, the water that had come out of the tap was yellow. The room's decor was dull and paint was peeling off. The elevators were slow. The bar/restaurant was nothing special. I'd recommend staying at the Four Points which is right beside it (therefore, getting the good location), which looked a lot nicer from the outside and inside, and had a nice bar as well as seating area in front of the hotel, unlike Distrikt. Overall, next time I will pay more to stay in a better hotel, with better rooms, better service, and better trained staff. I stayed at the Warwick my last time in New York and found that hotel to be perfect.

Good city centre hotel

Posted 30-Aug-2014
Pros: Very quiet even though close to times sq. the bus from Newark airport stops at the bus station on the next block.
Lovely hotel ideally placed. Rooms very nice modern design. Friendly staff able to give advice. Comfortable beds. We had breakfast three mornings in the hotel it was very nice well cooked but they added 18 0/0 service charge to the bill which if you are staying in the hotel is a bit much.

Great hotel with welcoming & helpful staff

Posted 28-Aug-2014
Pros: Staff, facilities and location all good
Cons: Room aircon is very loud and could get irritating from time to time
Hotel staff were excellent from the first moment to the last; helping with itinerary plans, timings and generally anything needed. Room was really smart and pretty spacious for 2 people, with an excellent bathroom and large shower. Location, 5 mins from Times Square, is ideal as most things are pretty accessible, whilst not being stuck right in the madness of millions of people.

Second time just as good....

Posted 24-Aug-2014
We returned to New York for another trip and of course had to stay at the Distrikt! There is a building site next door,, but we only heard the usual New York traffic noise (they do like to use their horns!), but it was minimal and didn't disturb us at all. Room was spacious enough, spotless and the staff extremely friendly and helpful and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thanks for another great stay!
