“Basic Hotel”
As it was a last-minute booking for a short layover in NY, I was doomed tto the left overs. I arrived late on a Sat. night. The neighborhood was dark and gloomy, but quiet. The front desk opened the door for me when I arrived. I was given a key and take-out menus for dining. The room smelled of lingering smoke residue, but was clean. Temperature was controlled by a wall unit heater/air conditioner. It was freezing when I arrived but warmed up in normal time once the heat was on. I left before breakfast was served but the early shuttle service was great. There were no frills. The cost was not worth the quality but it was convenient location with an efficient shuttle.
“Fantastic value!”
Really impressed, incredibly cheap but clean, staff very helpful, nice breakfast included and free shuttle bus to the subway. Get the Long Island Railroad to the city, costs 7 dollars more but way quicker or walk to the Aquaduct subway station. Overall a fantastic reasonably priced option.
“Perfect airport hotel”
This is what is says on the tin, an airport hotel. The shuttle was free and prompt, we caught it only 10 mins after arriving at the pick up area. On arrival at the hotle we were given various take-out menus, fine after a long flight, we called and pizza was delivered to reception not long after. The room was fine, the bathroom was very good. Breakfast was simple, help yourself, great waffle making machine. Get to reception early for the shuttle to the airport, we caught the 8.30 shuttle and it was full. The hotel is within an industrial area, I don't think it is usual to walk the area at night... An excellent alternative to a last night in Manhatten and less than 1/6th of the cost!
“Very good to those who need to be close to JFK”
I liked the hotel, but the room was a little bit small. The service is very good and the shuttles are usefull and people help you with everything.I would recommend it to everyone.

“Closer and cheaper isn't always better”
I booked the Days Inn since it came up as closest to JFK and I didn't fancy a long shlepp at the end of a 14 hour flight to get to an overnight room. The shuttle bus at JFK is actually the Holiday Inn's shuttle (look carefully for the very small sign on the side informing you it also goes to the Days Inn). The room was very small indeed, and because of the hotel's close proximity to a major freeway, very noisy. If you have an early start, skip the idea of the free breakfast - it isn't served until after 6am. There's no restaurant or cafe on site - you'll have to ring out for delivery. All in all, while the Days Inn was relatively cheap, beware. It might be wiser to pay an extra $50 for a much higher level of comfort and convenience.
“Great economical hotel”
Very satisfied with economical stay
“Misleading”
The hotel is what it claims but it is in an industrial area. Do not expect a lot of places to go within walkiing distane. Our big problem is that the floor numbers are very misleading. The first floor is actually underground. The elevator buttons follow a sequence from L, 1, 2, 3, 4 and is very smooth operation. Nothing to indicate you are actually going down. We arrived after a very long flight so we went to sleep right away when we got into the room. We work up 3 hours later and discovered the window looked out at ground level in the parking lot. My wife was very uncomfortable with the location so we asked to be moved up. The hotel refused due to the time we had been there. Our biggest issue is that it is all set up to make it seem like the first floor is above the lobby, not below it. Instead of being RM 111 , why not G011 or B011, or just 011. Just be warned that first floor rooms are not where you think they are at this hotel.
“Fine for one night”
The hotel has a shuttle to the airport, but I had to wait for about 35 minutes because I didn't realize that the Holiday Inn Express van also dropped people off at Days Inn. The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the airport. My room had at least 2 burnt out lightbulbs, but otherwise was clean and comfortable enough. The airport has shuttle service to the airport every hour 24 hours a day so I didn't have to schedule or wait for a ride to the airport.
“Conveniently next to JFK airport”
I booked at Days Inn as my flight was getting into JFK late in the evening and I wanted somewhere nearby to stay. It was reasonably easy to get to, by catching the AirTrain and then a hotel shuttle. The staff were very helpful and assisted me in ordering dinner from a nearby takeaway and having it delivered in the middle of the night. Breakfast was reasonable - waffles, toast, cereal, coffee, juice, muffins etc. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean, so I can't really complain about anything! It's not the sort of place that you would stay at for more than one night, and while it's close to the airport, it's not close to anything else.
