excellent hotel close to Times Square.

The cab service from the hotel was good. Unfortunately returning to the hotel it was very difficult to get a taxi because the weather was unusually cold. Lines were very long everywhere. NEW York City!!!

Nice hotel in perfect location

Posted 27-Nov-2014
Perfectly located. Very nice room. Absolutely comfortable. Quiet. Very clean. Affordable for the location, comfort and time of year (Thanksgiving). Breakfast was really good and restaurant staff is nice and welcoming. However, main desk staff was not helpful and not friendly at all.

So comfy

Posted 26-Nov-2014
Pros: Great location, very clean, lovely room. Very very comfy bed with crisp white bed linen
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: Times Square and all that goes with that. Rockerfeller centre within walking distance as was Central Park. Bus tours started nearby.
The hotel was in a wonderful location. Staff friendly and helpful. We have travelled to many places but I can honestly say this was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Great value for money

Posted 26-Nov-2014
Pros: Location, customer service and cleanliness
My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights. We celebrated her 21st birthday whilst away. I contacted the hotel before arriving regarding a special treat for her, and they replied swiftly and where very helpful and accommodating. We had a great time and the hotel was spotless with really comfortable beds (welcome after long day sight seeing!). Although hotel is really close to Times square, we where on 40th floor and had no problem with noise and elevators are really quick. Would recommend this hotel and will stay there next time we visit.

Too hot to handle

Posted 25-Nov-2014
I want to give a better review but I can't. The heat/cool controls didn't work. Our room stayed at a toasty 76 degrees no matter how many times we set it for 65 degrees. We complained after the first night to the front desk. Our second and last night found an option of opening a window propped open with a pen and being unable to sleep from the noise or dealing with the 76 degree heat again. We slept poorly both nights which affected our energy during the day. We were offered breakfast (after we already ate) and rewards points - neither of which could do us any good after the fact. It's a great location, but we won't stay there again.

Very nice location, walking distance to a lot of attractions and eateries. Our room was very clean and spacious?

Nice hotel, big room, central location.

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Nice hotel, big room with all modern amenities in a very central location. It is just off Times Square so not as busy outside the hotel as we had feared. The coffee shop was excellent with good options at reasonable prices - better quality and choices than a Starbucks. The bar area served typical bar food, which was presented well and aging not over charged. We didn't use the restaurant as went out each evening. Staff were the only real letdown, they weren't bad but they weren't good either - simply uninterested. Service was slow and somewhat unhelpful. The only drawback to the rooms were the cobwebs on the ceiling...probably due to the fact that it was a speckled ceiling that catches dirt and dust a lot easier than a typical smooth ceiling.

Nice room

Posted 22-Nov-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness. Double beds were not available. They should specify that upon booking; we ended up with a king size bed.
I've stayed at the Crowne Plaza a few times and love the location; but this time around our room was not cleaned when we checked in. Bed was not made. Trash was left behind. It was unfortunate. The check in staff are hit or miss when it comes to friendly and helpful. This time, it was a miss; and was hardly accommodating. The room is nice and comfortable otherwise. Some rooms are smaller than others. Good location.

Great hotel, great location

This was a wonderful hotel to stay at. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and our room was clean and roomy, along with a gorgeous view of Times Square. The location was perfect because it was walking distance to so many restaurants and activities. I will definitely be returning.

Fantastic!

Posted 20-Nov-2014
Pros: Warm, clean and friendly staff
Cons: Bathroom fittings
Location: Times Square right on the doorstep and close to the Subway and all the local shops
We booked this hotel for it's location and used the reviews on Trip Adviser first to help us make our decision. When we arrived at the hotel we were told there were no rooms facing Times Square but after a few jokes and smiles with the receptionist she managed to juggle the rooms to give us what we were looking for :) Thanks Rhoda. The hotel was clean and well kept, the service was fantastic and all staff were friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if we ever return to New York we would be booking with the Crowne Plaza again! Only one small negative, the shower control was hanging off the wall and the bath was a little chipped and didn't look nice (room 3903) but did not hinder us in any way.
