“good option for layover between flights”

Only complaint is that the desk attendant set us up with a non-metered, unmarked taxi. The driver charged more than double what the metered taxi cost on the trip back to the hotel. He also made a $5 error (in his favor) in making change.

“Good but not Great.”

This Crown Plaza is starting to show it wear. They need to keep up with maintenance of the rooms and furniture.

“Problem Hotel”

Upon arrival the clerk "manager" was very very rude which shocking to me based upon the class of Crowne Plaza Hotels. He checked us into a room that hadn't been clean. I thought someone was still staying in the room. Beds weren't made, floors not cleaned, bathroon with toilet paper in the toilet, unclean towels everywhere. I returned to the desk to bring this back to the attention of the manager and he got a smirk on his face and said "oh sorry". We asked and paid for a room with two queen size beds and instead got a room with two full size beds. We almost requested in our reservation a room on the highest floor instead we were placed on the second floor. My friend almost got stuck on elevator #1 which opened up between the first and second floor and wouldn't work anymore. The Airport Shuttle was very prompt and on time and breakfast buffet in the resteraunt was convenient. From this experience, I am now very hesisitant about recommending or staying at Crowne Plaza Hotels.

Area recommendations
I would recommend people to stay in Jersey City or Brooklyn area due to its location and convenience into New York City.
Getting around
If you are staying in Newark area and want to get to New York City, the most economical way to arrive is throught Penn Station New Jersey and take the Path Train to World Trade Center Station. New Jersey Transit also have a train from Penn Station New Jersey to Penn Station New York City for a little more. This is a very economically and efficient way to get to Manhatten.

“Satisfaction with the hotel, but I dont go back”

I decided to stay in NJ because the hotels is cheaper than NY , but in my case I choose this hotel and I realized that for next time I will stay close to the station, because we spent 1 hour to go to NY. But, I liked the hotel , specially the breakfast, it was good and delicious.

“ok”

it was good + room is clean big flat TV nice shops in the hotel open early morning and late night very close to airport - room is very small I expected bigger from CrownPlaza

“The Hotel was one of the best experience in my New York Trip”

The hotel is great, clean with a big screen and comfortable beds.....The check in and check out was really quick (2 minutes) the shuttle to the Airport was as soon as I wanted. They have vendors machine, great food for the rooms and a store and computers at first level, I didnt have the chance to enjoy the swimming pool and the gym but I bet was good too. Arriving to Newark Airport go to the Level P4 thru the Air Train, then you take the hotel shuttle which took about 5 minutes in arrive, the hotel is about 10 min from the airport. 2 blocks from the Bus 112 which takes you to NY Port Authority for 6 USD each way, it passes every hour or so, by this bus it is 35 minutes to arrive to Manhattan 42st and 9st. I recommend the hotel widely and expedia as well was a great experience as USUAL. Have a nice trip!! Claudia

I think August is the best time to travel to New York, it is just fresh and sunny!!
Must see
I know everybody wants to go to the Statue of Liberty, but my recommendation is to take the boat the Beast by Circle Line, you can buy it on expedia and for me is the funniest, easiest way to see the Statue of Liberty and you can take better pictures, because the boat stops in front of it and they give you time for pictures or video, besides is quick, great music and you get so excited, for my nephews (12 and 19 years old) was the best experience in NY and you skip the long lines for the Statue of Liberty.

Spiderman Turn off the Dark in Broadway is absolutely amazing!! Dont miss it.

“Ok for the price”

Ok ice machine not working on our floor. Lots of people in the parking lot playing games at night
