“Very nice but...”
You should know the way of use the NJ transit bus system before your departure. Or you may use expensive NYC taxi or wait bus for several hours.
“Very impressed!”
The hotel was very affordable and is a perfect base to explore New York. Rooms were excellent, service and manger were exceptional. No complaints at all and we felt that the manager really went out of his way to help us where he could. If you are a family and likely to want breakfast, it's probably better to get 'all inclusive', as breakfast ended up quite costly for 5 of us! Would definitely use again. The hotel is a 15-20 minute bus trip to NYC. The bus stop is literally out of the hotel and on the corner. You can catch a 192 or 199 to 42nd Street, (the Port Authority) for $4.25 one way. If you're catching the bus back, you need to get your tickets before boarding the bus.
“Nice hotel”
This was a very clean, very nice hotel. The staff was very polite. The beds could use some new mattresses, very noisy when you roll over. The restaurant had decent food, however, there were only a few of us one night and we waited over an hour for our dinner. Service was very slow.
“Grumpy Irene Orphans”
It seems very unfair to criticize this hotel when we were evacuated here to keep us safe from Hurricane Irene. The staff in the Restaurant worked incredibly hard and their service was excellent. It was not where we wanted to be and I would not wish to return.
“"Go For It!"”
I just returned today, from a two night stay with my husband and teenaged daughter. I went on line to find an ideal place to stay that was close to NYC. The reviews were ALL good, so I decided to go ahead and book. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The hotel is just as it appears on-line. It is very modern, clean, has a warm and professional staff. The pool (which is no deeper than 5ft ), is small but very clean, as is the work-out area. If you are someone who does not have to (or can"t afford to) stay in the heart of downtown, then this is a great spot. It is just a 20 minute ride on the public bus (comfortable motor coaches/ at $4.25 one way, per person). The bus stop is right outside of the hotel and the front desk will give you a schedule for the bus. The bus takes you right to the NYC Port Authority (just near Times Square) and you are right there! My only negative I have to share, is that the walls seem paper thin, as we heard every word of our neighbor's conversations, until they went to sleep. Overall, I would definitely return!
“Very satisfied”
Very good location. Nice amenities.
“Great stay”
We have used this hotel many times in the past, but were even more pleased this visit. They used the "double sheet" on the bed. I think this is much more sanitary than the spread. The king mattress and sheets were wonderful. We both got a very good nights rest.
“Would definately Recommend Based on our stay”
As a single mother traveling alone with my 13 year old daughter I was extremely satisfied with the location, we felt extremely safe at the hotel and the convenience of the NJ transit stop at the corner of the hotel. We took the bus over into NY everyday and came back every evening and we did not have any problems. It cost us less than $20 round trip. Beats driving in NY and trying to find place to park. I would highly recommend this hotel and its location to women traveling alone with children to have a great time in NY.
“Perfect for its purpose...and with a great pool.”
I was traveling for business so I came in the night prior to my meeting. They check you in and give you a free water and some sort of meal bar which I thought was nice. The place nicely decorated and well laid-out. The pool is a really nice feature. I spent as much time as possible there. The workout room is so so. One of the treadmills is pretty low-end. The food at the restaurant was good although overpriced. Same for drinks. I mean $5 for a domestic beer? Let's be reasonable. You can go to a nightclub and pay less. Meeting was cancelled the next day due to a snowstorm so I stayed at the hotel. Asked to have my checkout extended to 2:00 pm and they let me. Breakfast was good although again overpriced. The buffet was like $9 and then they charge you extra for coffee so it was like $11 for breakfast which seems like too much to me. All told though it was a nice stay. I'd go back again. Everything was clean and the staff were nice.
“Courtyard Marriot, Lyndhurst, NJ”
This hotel is in a great spot for those who want to visit NYC or north NJ. It's located next to Route 3 which takes you into NYC and it will also take you to the NJ Turnpike which you can take to other areas. The hotel is neat, clean, modern rooms and they have great coffee in the mornings. Parking is right in the back. A Subway restaurant next door for some quick food, and a diner across the street. I always stay here when I go to NJ. Its 30 minutes from the Newark airport. Don't tell too many people about this hotel and let's keep a good thing for ourselves. Just kidding!!!
