My Wife and I stayed at this Hotel for eight nights on our first ever visit to New York City. This was a sightseeing trip and the Hotel proved to be a good choice as a base for our excursions. We chose this Hotel after reading the numerous positive reviews left by previous guests and were not disappointed. We had a quiet room overlooking the interior courtyard, there was no view but this was not important to us as we wanted as much quiet as possible. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room size adequate with a bath and shower. The continental breakfast was fine, including porridge if required, plus tea and coffee plus cakes 24 hours a day and the wine and cheese etc. daily from 5pm until 8pm. All inclusive. Also available were two computers with connecting printer which were useful. The internet connection for our IPad was good and also free. Tony's restaurant was next door, plus there were other restaurants in the same block, reasonably priced with good variety of meals.
We had a late flight and were able to leave our luggage at the Hotel after checking out, enabling us to enjoy our last day in New York not worrying about our luggage, collecting it in time to catch a taxi to the Airport. We also required postage stamps, we were told to leave our post at the Reception desk and they would ensure the post would be stamped and posted. A small point but very helpful to us.

Stayed at the Mark based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. Less than a block from the park. Staff were very helpful in every regard. The service is outstanding as is the comfort of the rooms. We had only one borderline experience with slow service in the restaurant for breakfast. We will be coming back to New York on a regular basis and plan to make the Mark our New York hotel!

Front desk was pleasant and very helpful. Room was very spacious and very well kept. First thing I said walking to our room who the hotel had a nice scent throughout hall that continued to my room. The breakfast was very good. Although you may feel like your in a shady neighborhood but overall with so many people around I felt safe. Only fault I see with hotel is the very very limited parking spaces for guests.

I stayed at the Beacon many years ago, so I was pleasently surprised to find that it had been remodeled and a new Beacon bar had been added. The whole neigborhood has changed, it is now more upscale.
We also enjoyed the Fairway market across the street. The Beacon has a small kitchen so we bought breakfast items for the three days we were there. The rooms were very clean and the room itself was very homey and comfortable. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

We were very pleased with our daughter's choice of hotel: the facilities and staff were excellent and the hotel benefitted in being slightly away from the main tourist area. We would recommend it to anyone.

Just arrived back from a busy week in New York for my daughters sixteenth birthday. The Strand Hotel was absolutely perfect for us. We walked everywhere from our hotel as it was so central. All major attractions were less than 15-20 minutes walk. And a 2 min walk from the Empire State Building with its fantastic views. We took in a basketball game at Madison Square Garden, A show on Broadway and a couple of fantastic tours with the Grayline Bus Company. Spent a day in Central Park and obviously done some shopping !. All in all a great experience.

We had really nice, spacious and clean room with a view of St Patrick's Cathedral. The hotel staff was so friendly and welcoming. On my next trip to New York, I hope to stay here again.
