Excellent hotel. Very helpful, courteous, and attentive staff. Absence of parking is a major problem, ameliorated somewhat by hotel shuttles provided upon request to and from subway stops within a mile or two. Location in somewhat run down light industry and warehouse area makes venturing outside very unappealing. even though near to more residential areas and relatively short subway ride into Manhatttan..

"Good Value, Good Location"
I chose this hotel based on the relative value compared to other hotels in the area. It offered a reasonably sized room, easy access to the subway, friendly staff, and a great location. I was able to pack in a lot of sightseeing, and it was particularly nice to be only a few blocks from the Museum of Natural History and Central Park. The building itself is old, although the rooms have been renovated adequately. The only time I heard any other people was when they closed their doors in the hall. Overall, this was a good experience. I would stay there again.

"great first time in NYC "
The place was awesome and the staff was the best. They remembered our names from the start. Everytime we would come through the door we were greeted with a smile and a big hello and so on. It was my first time there in the Big Apple and you guys were the best. Thank you very much. If I come back I will want to stay there again.

Just a fabulous quiet space ( yes, the room was spacious ) bed was cozy, the only noise was some teenagers away from their parents screaming Sunday morning. Hotel is cool, the staff are really friendly.

"Lacking a little soul"
A nice hotel in a good location but lacking real heart. Staff were not unpleasant just rather indifferent. The premier room was ok if a little cramped for a longer stay.

"Nice hotel close to Times Square."
My husband and I had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Michelangelo Hotel for our first time in NY. The staff was very friendly and always pleasant to see. When we checked in we were given a queen bed, even though I had booked the executive king room. We went back down to the front desk and it was quickly rectified and we were upgraded to a suite with a king bed because they didn't have the room that we had originally book available. The room was very spacious for New York and very beautiful. I would stay here again if I returned to New York, and I hope I do.

"Expensive "
The service is slow. We asked for a rolling bed and we had to call three times before having it. One glass of milk 17.00 dollars. Breakfast really expensive.

"Small but perfectly formed"
This hotel is ideally located for sightseeing uptown and downtown. It's small which makes it more personal than some of the larger hotels. The staff, front desk, bar, breakfast room and concierge, we're all excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and really very helpful and are probably the main reason we would stay here again and recommend to friends. Great little rooftop bar too and while this can get a little busy from time to time we were always able to find a nice seat outside.

"Great location, good value"
This hotel is really well placed for all the mid- and downtown sightseeing stuff. It's a walk to Times Square but not too far, the sightseeing bus stops a few blocks away at the Empire State Building and there are loads of good value places to eat if you go a block or two away from 5th Avenue. Shelley on the front desk is just great - funny, helpful and a great first impression for us when we arrived at 1am! Rooms are smallish but nicely done and very clean. Would stay here again.
