“Bad experience”

I'm very disappointed with hotel service... Bad experience with information desk, problems with door lock that despite maintenance be called still not fixed. Tried to use room safe but attendant insisted that it would cost 10 times more than explained on the label at room and offerred wireless connection at room did not worked at all. The shuttle service and location is pretty good for who wants to visit Manhattan without paying too much on the old hotels, but need to improve a lot to be a good choice.

“Great place and super friendly staff!!!”

For a hotel close to the airport - it was perfect!!! I called and spoke with front desk and they explained to me how to find the hotel shuttle at airport -then a wonderful person showed in ten minutes and picked me and my luggage up! Arrived at hotel to a super friendly staff who was just wonderful and i checked in quickly! Got to my room and it was great! Bed was awesome and so were the pillows!!! For such a low price this hotel really was great!! My room was clean, comfy and huge!!! Loved it!! Breakfast was standard hotel buffet fare, but again the service was excellent and it was a free breakfast so i am not sure how people can complain. I just wish it had a restaurant, there was nothing close by to eat at except airport and i did not want to go there until it was time.....

“Shuttle to airport took 45 minutes to pick us up....”

The room was fine, but the shuttle service took 45 min to pick us up at 11pm. Finally when a Best Western shuttle pulled up, we jumped in, ready to get back to our car. After a few minutes we noticed we were heading downtown- not to BW at the airport. The driver never said where he was going, and when we asked him to bring us back to the airport or the BW at the airport he refused. He said it was his last run of the night and dropped us off on the side of the road to get a cab. $20 and another 15 minutes later we were back at the correct hotel....So frustrating after a long flight!

handy location, shuttle bus very good, breakfast above average, staff very helpful, will probably stay here on future visits to nyc, comfotable bed

“Nice Room - Poor Service”

I picked this hotel for an over night stay before an early morning departure from Newark Liberty Airport. Previous reviews were positive especially that the hotel provided a breakfast as early as 4:00 AM for early morning departures. Our departure required a breakfast at 4:45 AM. When we arrived the desk clerk told me that a hot breakfast started at 7:00 AM but there would be a continental breakfast at 4:45 AM. I believe he said it started at either 4:00 AM or 4:30 AM. When we came down for our continental breakfast at 4:45 AM the room was dark. The night clerk could not seem to find the way to turn up the lights. The only item provided for the breakfast were some muffins. There was only one yougurt in the cooler and the rest was coffee and juice from machines. This was hardly the breakfast we expected. There was no fruit, no cheese, no toast, no jam, etc. that comprises a continental breakfast. If you leave early and expect a continental breakfast before 7:00 AM you will be very disappointed as we were. Also, the location of this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. It is right next to a container loading yard where machines operate and can be heard in your room. The parking lot is narrow for a car if you bring a car in to park over night. On the positive side the rooms are clean and well appointed. I found the desk staff not very responsive. However, the bar and restaurant staff were pleasant. Lastly, the restaurant is small and offers a very limited menu.

“Good value overall”

Quite a good location although the hotel surroundings are a bit too "industrial". But great breakfast and very nice and helpful staff. If all you want to do is get close to New York, be comfortable and not spend a lot of money this is a winner.

“Good for the price”

Had a really nice stay at the hotel, only thing was they offered a shuttle service which we requested to be pick up at 11.30pm from Penn station, they did not arrive until 11.50, we was very unsure if they were coming and had to ring to confirm, not satisfactory for 4 women to be waiting outside a station at that time of night i thought. Breakfast was nice too.

“YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE !!!”

Do not go to this hotel. It is well worth spending a little extra to go anywhere else. The shuttle taking us from the airport to the hotel was very late. We tried using the phone in the waiting area every 15 mins and were told by the hotel staff the shuttle would be there in 5 mins every time. After waiting over an hour for it to arrive it was too small to accommodate everyone. We then had to wait an extra half an hour for the next one. When we enquired with the driver about the amount of time taken he started getting very frustrated and started swearing in front of our children. We thought we would be better off complaining to the hotel manager but he was just as bad and just lied about the whole thing. The hotel itself was on an industrial site and it was impossible to walk anywhere. We had to rely on the shuttle to go anywhere and because of the poor service ended up spending what we should have spent on a better hotel on cabs instead. The rooms were dirty simple poorly lit and in need of decorating. The dinning area was messy and the breakfast was poor with no choice. Not even if do not eat whatever’s on the menu. Building works were going on outside the hotel and we never felt safe at all. One night it appeared the local pimps and gangsters congregated on the 1st floor for some sort of player’s party. It really was scary especially for the children. Do not go to this hotel. It is well worth spending a little extra to go anywhere else.
