Hotel staff not willing to do much to help and there is no available food so be prepared for take out. Rooms are small but comfortable and the shuttle service is excellent.

“Ideal for a layover, nothing more.”

I read the reviews, so had a pretty good idea of what I was going to get. One reviewer mentioned about the public hair in the shower, I guess it must be a feature, as I had the same issue. Would I go back, sure... but only for a layover.

“Ok room minus the pubic hair...”

The hotel was in a good location, and the service was good. However there were some real issues with our room. First, the room was located close to a vending machine area. There was a glass door to this area and every time someone closed the door, it was very loud in our room. I am a very deep sleeper, but I woke up often. Second, the pillows were very small. They seemed to be about 2/3 the size of a normal bed pillow (more similar to a couch pillow). Third, there was a computer chair in the room which was so worn out that the springs would poke you. Fourth the television was extremely grainy. Finally the room was very clean with the exception of a pubic hair next to the bathroom sink which was disgusting. For $140, I would have expected a little more.

“Noisy and uncomfortable”

The hotel room was extremely noisy. A wind tunnel in the hallway meant my room door sounded like it was knocking all night long. The pillows were square shaped and extremely uncomfortable. I woke up the following morning feeling exhausted from not getting any sleep with a cricked neck.

“Basic and functional - good service”

We wanted an inexpensive hotel for one night between an international flight and the domestic part of our trip. We found the price very high for the basic level of service offered - our simple room cost more than we thougth it was worth. Since it was right at Kennedy Airport, we assume that is a license for all the hotels to overcharge the customer. There were valuable positives however. The shuttle driver was friendly and helpful. We did not need to wait at the airport which was great since the plane was 2 hours late. The front desk person was also pleasant and helpful. He gave good advice on the best way to get to Penn Station including the comparative costs and transit time for cab vs subway. The room was small and basic but clean and comfortable. The hair dryer didn't work but that was the only flaw. The WI-FI worked well. The breakfast was very basic - nothing to brag about. - but you could get something in you before moving on. This is a hotel that met our needs for one night with no frills.

“Garbage Truck Depot adjacent”

We arrived late in the evening at JFK and it took over 45 minutes to get to the hotel because the shuttle bus ran only every half hour. The hotel was next to the depot for NYC garbage trucks, thankfully we were not downwind. However, we got very little sleep as the trucks started to roll at about 4am. The hotel was not very clean and the neighborhood was scary. We had to catch an early plane. The server at breakfast insisted at 5:50 am, that we could not eat until breakfast opened at 6 am even though the food (dry cereal and terrible doughnuts) was out and we needed to catch the 6 am shuttle to the terminal. Obviously, a pretty disappointing experience.

“Needed to be near JFK”

The hotel is one of a number of adjacent small hotels near JFK. The area is empty of life being near the airport. We needed a budget hotel near the airport with breakfast included, That's what we got. The room was adaquate, the desk people were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was typical continental style. There was plenty and of good quality but the seating area was small so we had to wait to find a table. There is free Wi-Fi and the best thing is there is a free shuttle bus whch runs every hour. Overall I was satisfied.

“Smoking "Room" in the Dungeon”

We booked a non-smoking room, but by the time we arrived, all non-smoking rooms were taken because people were stranded overnight in New York due to weather. So we were given a smoking room (122) and, for the first time in our lives, we rode the elevator DOWN to the basement where the entire hall reeked of smoke and there were a couple of doors marked "Staff." When we entered our room, someone had left on the heat, so it was about 90 degrees (it was cooler outside even though it was August). The A/C unit rattled like crazy when we turned it on and the thermometer wouldn't let us go below 81 degrees. The room was the size of a walk-in closet and was damp, sticky & smelly. Everything was slightly damp, including sheets and towels. The carpet was so wet, it squished in places. The good news? We only had to spend 6 hours here since we had an early morning flight. Also, the shuttle ran on time and the staff was nice, but couldn't do anything for us.
