“great apart from the free wifi”
No major problems with the hotel, room was a bit small but the comfort of the bed made up for it, There was a very noisy train that came by every morning about 7am. We were never able to connect with the free wifi, although there was a computer in the reception for guests to use. Although the area wasn't the prettiest we never felt threatened at whatever time we walked back. Great value for money.
“Longlegs”
Small but clean, friendly, and well located to Javits Convention Center. I would use it again.
“Friendly staff -excellent value”
This is an excellent value for money hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful-.the area was garages, fire station etc -a working area but it did not feel unsafe (we were 2 females)and infact we enjoyed seeing the fire station and the central park horses being brushed, fed and watered. The subway is an easy walk as was Times Square etc.We were on the 3rd floor and although we heard the train it did not cause us a problem-the beds were comfortable and clean and the complimentary breakfast most welcome-and unusual as normally we have had to go out for breakfast in the States-of course it isn't "full English" but we were in NewYork not London !!
“Comfortable”
Rooms comfortable, room service very good, good continental breakfast but only start at 7:00.if you need to use internet, hope there's nobody or that the one there is respecful of the rules cause you can't count on staff at the desk to assist you in fact it's the opposit.
“A good hotel for the price and star level”
This hotel is one of the cheapest in NYC for this star level and it has free brekfest and free inrooms wifi. The problem is its location - its a few blocks distance from any subway or from main attractions such as Times square or MSG. Also note that a rail track is located a few yards from the hotel and a train runs on it once or twice an hour causing horrifying noise from the wheels and the horn. However, they did not sound the horn during the night.
“Good overall”
Room was small and had no fridge, but ice was available from machine in lobby. Room was clean and the bed were very comfortable, think the mattresses where memory foam! Air con was very effective and not too niosy. We had breakfast included which saved us money. Breakfast was buffet style: Fruit, yogurt, muffins, mini donuts, toast, bagels, juice and tea/coffee. The street the hotel is located was a bit run down at first view but in the end we were glad there was little traffic noise etc. Is about a 10 min walk from port authority bus terminal (nearest subway station) or Penn station. For what we paid we enjoyed our stay here.
“Close to Times Square”
This was a great hotel not the least of which was a free continental breakfast every morning in lobby from 7am to 10am. I also enjoy the short walk about 5 blocks and about 3 avenues down from 10th to Times Square where I was attending the Kix concert one of my nights. I also appreciated their green stance on re-using towels and or changing bedsheets if you wanted them to or not. The staff were especially nice upon check-in eventhough I arrived fairly early before 10am. which normally they don't allow you to check-in before 3pm. so that was nice of them. I would definitely stay there again if the price was right.
“Great location for Javits center meetings”
The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was good. The hotel is old and in a terrible location with a "Gentlemens Club" between the hotel and the corner of 11th Avenue. This made me nervous to come home at night, requiring a taxi. Also, there is no foot traffic at night.
“Good compromise”
Good choice relative to price/location. Able to get to public transport (subway) easily.
“Jackson & Waszkiewicz Family”
We stayed here due to it was close to the port in NYC and shopping. It was only a few blockes down from shopping. Don't expect anything fancy when you enter the room. It is what it is, a room with a bed a bathroom, and a TV. The area was off a side street and parking was up 1 street for $30 for a 25 hr period. The comp brkfast was nothing fancy and was so crowded. That needed a little work. Overall was a nice place to stay if your in and out of NYC.
