“Great hotel, good location + good service”

We stayed at this hotel as part of our honeymoon. It was our first trip to New York, and we were glad that we chose the Shelburne for our stay. The room was a good size by NY standards, and was very comfortable. Our only gripe was the smell of smoke in the room when we arrived, despite having requested a non-smoking room. However, this was a fairly faint smell and didn't bother us too much. The staff at the Shelburne were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and even the housekeeping staff were accommodative. And if you like to relax in the evening with a drink or two, the atmosphere in the hotel bar is very relaxing. If we were returning to NY, we would have absolutely no hestitation in staying at the Shelburne again.

“Murray Hill Charmer”

Has the best burger joint I have found in NY on the first floor. Recent renovations have resulted in a clean and modern look and very comfortable beds. Staff very helpful. Cabs easy to find when the weather is cold.

“Great value and location”

We just enjoyed a fabulous Labor Day weekend at the Shelburne Murray Hill. It is more than we had hoped for. Only five blocks from Grand Central Station. Our room was very clean and quiet (except for the squeeky floor). The service was great. It has a comfortable common room with a big screen tv and computers to print our your boarding passes. The rooftop bar is awesome, with great views and a big crowd on Thursdays. We did not eat at the Rare Bar & Grill but it was usually busy. We will definately go back.

“Great Employees..Great Value..Great Location”

From the moment we met the doorman the experience was great. Friendly, helpful staff made our stay extremely pleasant. The room was comfy & included a kitchenette complete w/ dishes and cuttelry. The central location was ideal. We drove in and had no problem getting to the hotel from the Lincoln Tunnel. Hotel bar/restaurant had great food.

“A Great Place to Stay”

We were extremely pleased with this hotel. The location is excellent, the neighborhood very safe and we were at ease walking around day or night...near everything. This hotel is just wonderful. Incredibly comfortable beds...even the sofa bed was comfortable! The doorman and bellhops couldn't do enough for you, and the reception desk staff very friendly and willing to please. The room was very clean and well-kept...we were even walking around in our bare feet on the rug...a thing I usually NEVER do. Through Expedia, we booked a flight/hotel package, and stayed in a nice sized suite for a very good price. .

“Great Hotel”

We stayed at this hotel with 3 kids and the room was huge. Couldn't believe they even have rooms this large in Manhattan. We easily walked to the subway, times square, and central park. Subway was very close by and the other two took only about 20 minutes. Rooms were clean and recently re-done. Staff was very friendly and pleasant. Great Pizza place nearby called Libretto's. We had a great time and would definitely go back.

“Impressed for price”

I have very good things to say about this hotel. The room was large for NY standards and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit dated but very functional. Small kitchen area is very handy and fully stocked - great for long stays or trying to save money eating out. I only downside is that the subway stop is 2 blocks West and 5 blocks North to Grand Central. Not the end of the world it does take 10 minutes.

“Very Impressed”

Our stay at the Shelburne was great! The friendliness of the staff was exceptional. They were always willing to assist us in any way necessary. The hotel, while old, was very well kept up and clean. The restaurant, Rare, had great food and the service was top notch! If I ever have the opportunity to visit New York again, I would definitely consider the Shelburne as my first choice to stay. Since this was our first time in New York, our experience here helped make our vacation a success.
