Renovated in 2011, guestrooms at 70 park avenue - a Kimpton Hotel feature chocolate brown and soft off-white colors along with a mix of classic and contemporary décor with tailored piping, chrome and leather night stands, mercury glass lamps, smoke mirrored panels, custom damask carpet, a dark velvet sofa, and a lavender accent chair. Prints and wall-hung brass sculptures adorn the walls. A marble bathroom comes with Italian green-glass tiles, curved shower rod, Signature Kimpton animal print bathrobes, and Etro Spa-Inspired toiletries.

All guestrooms are smoke free and come with a safe, 42-inch flat-screen television, iPod docking station, complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, and complimentary newspapers delivered by request. In-room spa services are available for a fee.

All Kimpton Hotels incorporate more than 40 eco-friendly products and practices through its environmental program, Kimpton Hotels EarthCare.

Silverleaf Tavern - American cuisine in a intimate, tavern-inspired setting. Appetizers such as crab cakes, beef skewers. Tavern plates such as Grilled Flatiron Steak. Pizzas with choice of toppings. Wines by the sip, glass, “bottomless glass,” or bottle. Signature cocktails such as Silverleaf Mango-politan. Illuminated glass bar, silver-leaf chandelier, redwood floor, tufted-leather booths, velvet banquettes. “"Southern Hospitality" in NYC”

This was our 24 visit at this time of year and this one was the best visit by far. From the moment we arrived (given early check-in) until the end of our fourth day (with late check-out) we were treated royally. The hotel staff was the best and we were especially impressed with Kenza and Roxie. Both of them went out of their way to make sure we had every thing we needed and more. Thanks ladies! The room was comfortable and clean, a refrshing reteat at the end of a busy day. We hope that Expedia will include Kimpton 70 Park Ave as a hotel choice next year. We would be delighted to go back and stay and see the new friends we made on this trip. Merry Christmas!

Area recommendations

The location of Kimpton was safe and two blocks from Grand Central. This made subway travel very easy and convenient.

“good hotel for NYC”

I thought this was a great place to stay for the price and central location. It served it's purpose for a comfortable place to sleep/shower and the decor and style is very comfortable. The wine reception is a nice way to cap the afternoon and coffee in the lobby on our way out was another great perk. Three blocks from Grand Central Station can't be beat for trains or the restaurants on the lower level for a quick bite to eat. We liked it here very much....I would stay here again!

Area recommendations

Hard to say, there is so much to do. Being centrally located is great in order to go anywhere. We were in SOHO most of the time.

“Room issues”

There were several problems - leaky toilet, broken shower head and uncontrollable heat in the room. The toilet and shower head were quickly fixed, but the room was like a sauna. Also, there are no vents in the bathroom, making the room even hotter. Meanwhile, it was cold outside so we often kept the windows open and crossed our fingers that pigeons wouldn't fly in. The hotel location and workers are friendly and helpful. It seemed that the heat was a problem throughout. We also enjoyed the happy hour with free wine. If they'd add vents to the baths and be able to better from the temperature of the room, I'd stay there again. If not, I'd look elsewhere.

“Great Grand Central Location”

This Kimpton hotel is a pleasant choice, wonderfully close to Grand Central, airport transportation, midtown shopping, and the Morgan Library. Pleasant, helpful staff. Rooms are small, and bathrooms have little space for personal items.

“Good Location”

The bathroom was extremely small and the tile work had mold on it. The room was very nice and spacious. The wine hour was terrific along with the morning coffee.

I would recommend the midtown neighborhoods east side and west side.

“We would return to 70 Park Ave in a heartbeat”

We were very impressed with 70 Park Ave Hotel and their Staff were the utmost Professionals. Right from when we drove up, they unloaded our truck and made us feel more than welcome. Check-In went very smoothly and we were made to feel just like we were right at home. We had no problems throughout our stay and made this visit to NYC just part of our BEST holiday yet!! We would return to this Hotel without question and highly recommend it to other travellers.
