“Beautiful historic hotel”
Amazing hotel minutes from the French Quarter and shopping. Unfortunately, I did not feel safe at all to walk by myself at night. First time for me in any American city. Not necesarily homeless, just a lot of poor people pan-handling. Very sad to see and a little fearful at the same time. However; in other parts of the city, the people are generally beautiful.
“Roosevelt is Beautiful”
The stay was amazing. We asked where to get some New Orlean's food that was non-touristy. It was great. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly. Service is done with tact and professionalism. Stay if you can. We were there for a convention.
“Beautiful hotel, but not impressed with the service”
My husband and I stayed here at the Roosevelt to celebrate our 5th anniversary. The hotel is beautiful and in walking distance to the Quarter and other touristy places. However, as we were walking up to our room, a hotel staff stopped us before we opened the room door. He said he needed to go in to get a lost and found. Then not even 5 minutes later, housekeeping knocks on the door and says she needs to check the closet. The hotel is not very sound proof as I could hear the room phone ringing in the next room all night. I could also hear other guests opening and closing their doors. I was also not amused when we got our bill and there was a charge for an item from the mini bar (we didn't eat or drink anything) and when we discovered the valet parking was $40!!
“great new orleans style hotel”
Rooms were nice...updated....large bathrooms..loved the bar downstairs and lobby was large and very new olreans. I would recommend
“NOLA FRENCH QUARTER”
The Roosevelt Hotel is convenient to I 10 and the French Quarter. It's on Baronne, just off Canal and one block from Bourbon St. The hotel is renovated and decorated with antiques in the spacious lobby. The hallways are wide and the rooms are nicely appointed. We have stayed at many NOLA hotels and this one ranks highest on our list, so far. Unfortunately, the Jazz Brunch was cancelled due to a 12:00 Saints game during our stay.
“perfect proximity to french quarter”
The hotel was great. Newly renovated-beautiful lobby, fantastic rooftop pool. Hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. My husband did order champagne, cheese & chocolate covered strawberries which were supposed to be in the room when we arrved (a surprise) and they weren't. But they brought them up as soon as it was brought to their attention. Fantastic John Besh restaurant (dominica) attached to hotel. Also- just a few blocks from FQ. Was nice to be able to get there quickly, but even better to be able to retreat from the mayhem and return to quiet classy hotel. Conceirge was great- ate at August (AMAZING) Mr. B's (great shrimp and grits).
“New Orleans best!!”
We stayed at the rooselvelt for 5 nights. I previously contact the staff to let them know we were celebrating my husbands bday, as soon as we check in , they gave us an awsome upgrade to a suite . The room was great, beautiful decor , and upscale amenities. The restaurants are great at the propertie. Domenica for a trendy and delicious italian dinner, and the brunch at the blue room on sunday is a most do , with a Live band perfomance , and excelent food. Cody the concierge was extremly helpful for dinner reservTions . He booked us at the best restaurants in NOLA. Overall great place , great staff and awsome food.
“old style charm”
It has old style charm with updated luxury. You can walk to many of New Orleans major attractions.
“Highs and Lows”
Common areas and design features great as well as friendly and knowledgeable staff, especially concierge Don S. However the low occupancy and the bad room layout made the stay less comfortable than we would like. There was no table or shelf on one side of the bed for a drink or a book or a pair of glasses. The tv was so far away from the bed that the remote did not work unless you got up and walked closer to the tv. there was no bath tub and not enough electrical outlets for two people with 2 devices each. Plus they did not clean our room until the last day. I would never have written this unless you asked. All in all we had a great getaway. But with a little energy the room in this wonderful grande dame of a hotel could be much more comfy.
“very impressed, nice hotel in New Orleans”
very nice hotel, clean and the beds very comfortable, nice swimming pool. No complains at all!! we recommend this hotel...we can't wait to go back to New Orleans and stay at this hotel!
