Great French Quarter location!

Posted 22-Oct-2014
Pros: The hotel was clean, beautiful, and had fantastic staff!
Cons: Coffee makers in the room. PJ's coffee shop in the lobby was nice but sometimes you need a cup of coffee before you shower and get dressed.
Location: Great location! Don't miss the Segway Tour, The St. Louis Cemetary Tour, The Airboat Swamp Tour, Cafe Du Monde, Preservation Hall, Frenchman's St.
The Royal Sonesta was a great place to stay. It is located in the heart of the French Quarter which made almost everything we wanted to do in walking distance. The hotel staff is to be commended for their professional and warm services. The rooms are clean and nice. There is a safe in each room. The one downside is that there are not coffee makers in the rooms probably due to a PJ's coffee shop in the lobby. We went with friends and we sat out by the pool in the early evenings before we went out at night and there is a nice courtyard within the hotel that was a beautiful relaxing spot as well. The lobby sparked with crystal chandeliers and enormous bouquets of fresh flowers.

Good location for night life.

Nice hotel and staff. Good location for night life but definitely not a place to bring children. Everything is in walking distance and flat rate to the airport.

We are glad that you ultimately enjoyed your stay, and sorry you didn’t find the outside area more family friendly. For your future stays with us please know that there are 3 entrances to our hotel – Bourbon, Conti Street and the lower lobby via the underground parking garage ramp accessed from Conti or Bienville. Our concierge is always happy to suggest family-friendly activities in our city like a riverboat cruise or a visit to our award-winning aquarium, zoo and children’s museum. Beautiful hotel in the heart of the French Quarter

Posted 18-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, decor, staff, pool area, happy hour....
Cons: Bigger windows! Higher, all around view from the roof top patio to see more of the quarter!
Location: Bars on Bourbon, Royal Street, Jackson Square. Everything in the quarter. Very close to the CBD, we walked to the Shoppes on Canal and the Riverfront.
We loved the location - it's within walking distance to everything in the French Quarter. The interior is beautifully decorated and has a historic feel. It's an oasis of calm in the middle of the Bourbon Street chaos! We stayed on the 7th floor - the club floor. It cost more money but we had breakfast there every day. Its simple - eggs, bacon, fruit and baked goods but very handy. We also frequented the happy hour and had unlimited drinks and appetizers and mingled with the other guests. That was a lovely way to start our evenings! I'd recommend the club floor. The pool area was lovely. Overall a beautiful hotel in a great location with great staff.

Review of Royal Sonesta

Booked a king room. Got a queen room with no explanation as to why. Remodeling project of oyster bar downstairs meant loud noises (jack hammers, etc) during majority of day.

Everything was great except the water heater. Had to take a slightly cold shower on my second night.

Big Easy

Posted 10-Oct-2014
Have stayed here many times over thirty years. Obvious Bourbon Street location and very comfortable bed, bath and room. Three complaints: 1. could not check in until four thirty. 2. Ipod socket on clock radio was broken. 3. Their restaurant Desire was under renovation so it was closed and the lounge that was open was unacceptable to visit due to very loud constant banging.
