Posted 23-Jan-2015
My wife and I enjoyed three nights here with a balcony overlooking Bienville St. It was a wonderful hotel and we recommend it highly.

Do not stay on a low floor on Bourbon or the side

Posted 20-Jan-2015
Pros: Centrally located with lots of food options around.
Cons: Elevators were very slow. Soundproofing would help in the rooms. Decor in the halls and rooms could be updated.
Location: Great restaurants and close to nice shops...not on Bourbon Street.
Room was okay but unfortunately I paid extra for a King Room on Conti or Bienville Street. What a mistake. Had to sleep with ear plugs. Noise all night and lots of car/truck traffic early morning. Hotel location very central but also very crowded. The restaurant--Revolution was fantastic.

Spotless room.

Posted 20-Jan-2015
Pros: Friendly staff, clean rooms, close proximity to the best food in NOLA.
Location: Great museums, beautiful cemeteries, tons of food, and of course lots of beer on Bourbon Street.
There wasn't a speck of dust anywhere in the room. Literally, spotless.

Excellent location!

Posted 14-Jan-2015
Pros: Location, security, valet parking
Location: The French Quarter, Rented a vehicle an visited two plantations, WWII Museum, Commander's Palace, Hop on Hop off Tour, Lafitte's Blacksmith Bar
Just returned home from our stay in New Orleans. Unfortunately, the duration of our vacation was uncharacteristically cold. This hotel is located right within The French Quarter. The valet parking was worth every penny (could come and go as much as you wanted, quick service). Initially, we booked this hotel for the fabulous reviews about it's outdoor courtyard, pool, room rate and proximity within The French Quarter. Due to the poor weather we experienced, I feel we did not get full value out of our hotel stay because we did not get to use either. Surprisingly, we didn't hear any noise even though the hotel is located right on Bourbon St. Impressive hotel security.

Pros: Hotel is right on the French Quarter, and has a nice heated pool, a great plus.
Cons: Front desk staff
Location: Party all around, if that is what you are looking for
Front desk staff- except Gina, who was nice- was disappointingly almost rude. Never called to state room readiness, while we wondered around for hours. Bell boys and valet were nice also.

Small, outdated, nonsensical layout, noisy

Posted 11-Jan-2015
The room was small for a king room. The layout of the hotel itself and the room as well made no sense. Construction or something began at just about six a.m. on a Saturday morning and seemed like it was just outside our room. Luckily I understand Spanish because the walls were so thin I was able to eavesdrop on their conversations easily while my family attempted to sleep another couple of hours. When we booked, the site stated that our room was normally a $500+ room, discounted to about $250. I've stayed at the nearby W for around that price and had an incredible room compared to this. The Sonesta might be nice if it's exactly adjacent to the attraction you want to see. The lobby was nice. The Valet was reasonable. Staff seemed nice but we didn't really ask for anything. I would look elsewhere for the price.

Poor customer service, unsafe

Posted 09-Jan-2015
Pros: The location was good.
Cons: Customer service. Worst of any hotel I have stayed at.
I suggest staying away from this hotel. Valuable items disappeared from our room during the maid cleaning process. We reported the incident to the front desk and security, and were made to feel like we were an inconvenience the entire time. In the morning, a front desk manager told us our items were "found in the trash." They would not let us see the security video. To compensate us for our troubles, the front desk management promised us a refund. Once we returned home, however, the corporate office rudely denied the refund, leaving us uncompensated for our troubles and the staff's poor customer service.
