“Enjoyed our stay”

Although we loved our stay at the Maison Dupuy hotel....we had difficulties because we were towing an 8' U-Haul trailer...a parking nightmare. The Night door man (Russell) was very helpful and allowed us to park across the street for the first night we were there. We had to move the vehicle because the city cleans the streets on Tuesday mornings and we parked in an outdoor lot a few blocks down, which cost us $70!!! New Orleans, and this hotel definitely not set up for trailer parking etc...We also had an interesting experience in the hotel restaurant. We were given drink vouchers and tried to use them our first night there and were told they did not apply to our wine or drink selection (the waiter also dropped part of our pizza on the floor and said they would bring us another one and never did). We went back the next night to use our drink tickets and when asked what kind of wine we were given, it was exactly the same wine that the waiter said we couldn't use the night before. They were out of the house wine and had to substitute. Our dinner was good, but was not impressed by the waiter. All in all we enjoyed the hotel, beds were very comfortable and it was conveniently located to the Bourbon St. etc..., nice to not have to use a vehicle to get around. Would also recommend Delmonico's for dinner, very good and great service!

Area recommendations
Emeril's Demonico's for dinner! Very classy and delicious food!
Comment from the hotel's management
While we are thrilled that you have expressed that you loved your stay at Maison Dupuy, we do regret any confusion that may have occurred with the drink vouchers. We hope that the impact on your overall stay was minimal. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back again to enjoy the comfortable beds and great location you appreciated so much.

Thank you for your very kind review of Maison Dupuy. We feel lucky to be just two blocks from the excitement of Bourbon Street, yet just far enough away to provide our guests with some relaxing quiet time. It's wonderful that while you stayed with us you had an opportunity to dine onsite. Hopefully you can return during our 2012 French Quarter Wine Festival, beginning March 2nd, for an extensive selection of food by our celebrated chef along with over 50 different wines and great music. We look forward to welcoming your return to Maison Dupuy!

“my review”

hotel staff at the front desk was nice Saturday morning but rude Friday night when we checked in. They charged a total of 72 dollars to valet my car for two night. Last we went the weekend of the bayou classic which was a horrible night to be on bourbon street and at 2 or 3 in the morning there where people running yelling up and down the halls till the early hours of the morning.

Comment from the hotel's management
It is upsetting when a guest of the hotel experiences anything less than the exceptional service we pride ourselves in or that they were unhappy in any way. The hotel does offer valet parking for a fee and most guests find it to be quite convenient, we are sorry if you did not feel the same. Parking in the French Quarter is extremely limited as it is a living, breathing residential area along with being a mecca for tourists. As an alternative, there are other public parking lots within walking distance that do allow you to park overnight however they do charge a fee as well. We do encourage guests to share any concerns at the time of their stay and we would have welcomed the opportunity to address any hotel guests if they were being disruptive. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

“Would stay there again”

For the price the room was nice. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were hard. It was in a convenient location. We walked to most attractions. I understood there was a parking charge but was suprised at checkout they added a tax to the parking charge.

Comment from the hotel's management
It would be our pleasure to welcome you back to the Maison Dupuy. We are glad that while staying with us you took advantage of our great location in the French Quarter and were able to easily walk to many of the local attractions. It is regrettable that you were unaware of the tax that is applied to the hotel service of parking as we certainly never want our guests to be surprised by any charge on their bill. We hope to welcome you back soon to Maison Dupuy.

“Very good hotel in a convenient location.”

The Maison Dupuy Hotel was very well worth the stay. It is located on the edge of the French Quarter and within walking distance of almost every main street/marketplace in the French Quarter. Room was clean, decent rates, friendly staff. I would go back to that hotel again.

“Great find in the French Quarter”

Great little hotel away from the craziness of bourban st but walkable to everything you would like to do in the French Quarter. Sarah the concierge was outstanding! She suggested and made reservations for us at two outstanding restaurants and helped us obtain tickets to a jazz club that we wanted to go to. Upon arriving on a delayed flight at 2am, we were greeted in a wonderful manner and our rooms were ready to go. The little bar attached to the hotel was lively.

Area recommendations
The French Quarter and the Garden district
Dining
Highly recommend Coquette and Emeril's Delmanico in the Garden District and The Pelican Club in the French Quarter. Also Patrick's Bar Vin in the French Quarter for wine
Nightlife
Go to Frenchman street for great music and dancing
Comment from the hotel's management
We're thrilled that our concierge could help you with making dinner reservations and securing your jazz club tickets. Our staff prides themselves on delivering exceptional service to all of our guests at the Maison Dupuy and your gracious praise will be shared with them. We hope you will return again soon and enjoy the live jazz music right here at BISTREAUX four nights a week

“Convenient to Bourbon St., but not level as advertised”

I was looking forward to staying at Maison Dupuy before our trip. Once we checked in I was disappointed. Our room was small and very sparsely appointed. The furniture was worn and had paint splatters on it from the last time the room was painted .... I'm guessing. The closet was about one foot in depth, not a whole lot of room to hang your clothes. There was an iron and board in the closet, but both had seen their day many years ago. The room became very stuffy at times, especially when one of us took a shower. We were unable to open the windows because they were painted shut with several coats of paint. Two things that I can say about our stay that were positive are that the bed was very comfortable and the staff were courteous. Although, our room did not get fixed up one of the days we were there, the bed was left unmade and just the towels were changed out We saw the the room across the hall, which had a view down to the courtyard, and it looked quite a bit nicer. It is possible that we received a lesser room because we booked our stay in a package. Regardless, I don't plan to stay there again because it just wasn't what I was expecting after reviewing their site.

Area recommendations
Go to the Garden District - probably the only beautiful area in this city.
Dining
Lots of great places to dine - hard to choose!
Comment from the hotel's management
Thank you for sharing your perspective with us. The hotel was designed with the best use of space in mind and many find it lends even more to its character and charm. It is disappointing to hear your accommodations were not as expected but we were delighted to read that you enjoyed the comfort of the deluxe pillow-top bedding that is included in all guest rooms. We offer a wide variety of rooms and suites, each with its own distinctive character and it would be our pleasure to help you find the perfect accommodations in the future. We hope to have that opportunity so that you may experience all that that Maison Dupuy has to offer. *

“Loved the Courtyard and the Staff”

We were quite pleased with the hotel. Found the staff very friendly; location was perfect and sitting in the courtyard in the evenings with a glass of wine was lovely and very peaceful. Only disappointment was the condition of the shower/bathtub. Some upgrades to plumbing would go a long way.

Area recommendations
Anywhere in French Quarter other than Bourbon Street. Also loved Magazine Street and the Garden District.
