    “Pictou Counties deluxe retreat”

    A combination of rustic and deluxe accommodations await you at this sea side. The resort and area is well maintained and is located in an area which affords a beautiful view of Prince Edward Island. The perfect to spent a relaxing retreat.

    “Rooms vary- make sure you have a remodeled room”

    The grounds, scenery, and dining room at this lodge are lovely. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast there. Apparently one could swim at the beach but it was too cool for that on our visit. The hotel is well located for the ferry as well. The rooms really vary a lot. The original room we were given was a very shabby 70's era motel room with old bedding, old television and not at all what we expected given the star rating. Our room finally was changed to a room that was a remodeled motel style room and was adequate. There are accommodations there that do not look like motel style rooms that look charming (like rustic log cabins), but perhaps they are for more than 2 people. We were not offered them. My recommendation would be to stay here if it suits your travel plans BUT to make sure that you have a remodeled room when you reserve.

    “A hidden gem”

    The Pictou Lodge has a rich history, a fantastic view and all updated rooms. This lodge has that old-time feel. Babe Ruth and royalty have stayed here! It reminded me of the El Tovar Lodge at the Grand Canyon. The look is old, but the accommodations are very modern. You can watch the PEI Ferry from this beautiful view. We would definitely stay here again.

    “Rustic but Nice”

    Fantastic view - great dining room. Rooms have a lot of character, some are log cabins and very rustic but comfortable. Lighting in the rooms could be better.
