“Improve desk friendliness and hotel gets a 5”
Good value
“awesome hotel in Frankfurt”
Great peaceful hotel in the middle of a forest with a lake, 15 minutes away from downtown Frankfurt, It has in indoor and heated outdoor pool by the lake as well as tennis courts. I have been staying at this hotel since the 90's and it has always met my expectations, great rooms, service and superb breakfast buffet.
“klepsinski hotel”
The hotel was clean top to bottom. Did get lost trying to find the pool. The new toilets, with the new big tubs were extremely nice. It was further the extra moneys. Wish we could have afford it 2 weeks later but the price jumped to about 300 dollars more.
“Stay away”
I say this, there are great hotels in Frankfurt, don't choose this one. I thought the name Kempinski is promising great Hotels, but in that case they have to do a lot to upgrade this hotel. The staff is very helpful and nice, but this is not all what you paying for.
“Comfort & Class in the Forest”
This was the third hotel of our 10 hotel European tour. I have stayed in this hotel in the past, but not since the end of the 80's and always wanted to take my wife to Gravenbruch so that she could enjoy the spa and the wonderful cuisine and that I could enjoy the outdoor facilities that I was never able to indulge in as I was always there on business...happy to say that we were not disappointed!! The spa facilites are extensive, well designed, spotless and comfortable with attentive staff and the massage therapist gave my wife an outstanding Swedish massage. The bedroom was very large with a wooden floor and a lovely bathroom with a view of the forest; a very firm but fun bed! The menu is not extensive but is packed full of inventive and varied dishes that offer something for everyone. The food was delicious, well presented and value for money and as with all things in life, you get what you pay for. ..so enjoy the Gravenbruch Kempinski, because we certainly did!
“It's OK, but for the price not 5*”
If you need somewhere to stay that is near, but not in Frankfurt, this is a good place. The hotel was never of 5* standard as far as rooms and especially bathrooms, are concerned. The food is pretty poor, but the staff is charming and will do anything for you (within reason). The pool is nice as is the sauna, but the gym is too small and not well-equipped. This hotel is probably better in the summer. In the winter there is a problem with the car park, which is not run by the hotel. They do clear the snow from the "roads" but push it up to behind your car. If you get stuck at Frankfurt Airport, this is a great place for a layover. You do need to have your own transport, if you want to visit the area.
“Expensive and disappointing”
I have stayed here a lot over the past 18 months and am sad to see how fast the hotel is going downhill. For what you get it is very expensive, the bathrooms need upgrading and the internet prices are extortionate. The staff are lovely, but there has been quite a high turnover of late. I would not recommend the restaurants, although the beergarden is much better than either of the others, but it has been closed since October 2010. Breakfast at €26 is over-priced for the limited offering and some of it does not look fresh. The menus do not change very often and do not appear to make use of fresh, seaonal ingredients. Beware of the tapas! None of them are fresh or homemade. The pool and massage facilities are good. As for having to pay €15 a night to park, unbelieveable! I have stayed at 4 and 5 star hotels with better rates and amenities. The place is trading on the Kempinski name, but it is a world away from the Adlon, for example.
“stark nachgelassen”
“kempinski hotel gravenbruch frankfurt”
