After a harrowing day of travel, we arrived at our hotel. The room was very comfortable with great views of the harbour. We slept for 15 hours, great beds and quiet. We had a lovely lunch. And much refreshed, saturated on our tour of Italy
Fantastic rustic building with a beautiful surroundings on a side of a hill very close to the Mediterrean Sea. Very good neighborhood with many small shops. Parking is very hard to find in this area but they amazingly have parking available. Be sure to have GPS to find this place because the roads are narrow and poorly signed. This hotel is family owned and very helpful. The rooms are not 5 star but very comfortable. The wi-fi is free but only available in the lobby. This place is recommended and will always be a memoriable place for us.

I am not one for writing reviews, but this was a delightful break from the standard western hotels I could have booked.
It's a 16th Century Villa, so if you're expecting polished doorhandles and perfectly fitted features this is probably not the hotel for you. IF you're after rustic, friendly hotel then you've got a winner everytime.
Friendly, helpful staff and a good selection of drinks from the bar. Breakfast was also full of choice and excellent homemade cake.

"Magnificent building in a slightly awkward place"
In the early 19th century when the Villa Pagoda was built Nervi was a quiet and beautiful place for the rich and noble to live. Then the railway came and the noise disturbed the tranquility. The train noise is still an issue, and there is sometimes a lot aof traffic noise (buses, motorcycles, scooters).
However, there is much to enjoy, and the price is very fair for such grand accommodation. The managers and staff were very helpful and friendly, which was important because I speak hardly any Italian.
My one problem was a lack of information. The usual folder that you expect to find in a hotel room with details of facilities, services, bar and minibar prices was not there.
The station and harbour are not exactly close but the walk to get there can be very pleasant.
Overall - some snags but a magnificent and well run hotel.
