“Happy again and again!”
Third time returning for yearly Negril visit, usually solo, this time with friends. All enjoyed being right on the beach... nice to wake up, roll out of bed and have breakfast waiting for you while you sit and look out at all the beautiful blues of the sea. Nice staff. A/C problems but looked after promptly. Nobody was really into the night life this time around but there are usually great concerts to go to (Third World was in town but we didn't make it). We really just enjoyed the beach and going out to a different restaurant for dinners... love love love doing a whole lot of nothing! Relaxing with not a care in the world. Felt safe and secure, all times of day and night. Our driver, Richard, was by far THE BEST! Took excellent care of us, everyday... Go with RastaTours, everytime!
“Great Location!!!”
This hotel was just what I needed. The location was great, beach was perfect, and staff was amazing (shout out to Wesley from Carroll County, MD). It's not 5 star, but it has everything you need and is very affordable. They also include a free breakfast, even if you don't have the all inclusive package. Loved the banana pancakes, and the Jamaican breakfast is always good. I recommend staying in the ocean view suite. It's only a few dollars more, but it makes the experience so much more relaxing. I go to Jamaica quite often to visit family, and I try to spend a few days at a resort each time I go. Usually I stay in different hotels each time, just so I can experience something different. I will probably stay at this hotel again. The price is unbeatable for what you get. Can't wait to go back!
“NOT love at first sight”
That was pretty nice. We took a shuttle from the air port and all the other passengers were dropped off at these larger beautiful hotels. When we first pulled up to the hotel it was a shock and a bit of a let down compared to others. When we first checked in the lady at the counter knew exactly who we were before we said anything that was nice.Wwhen we got to our rooms the pillows smelled of mildew. They brought us new pillow cases. The towels were dingy they could use some new linens. They kept the same bed spreads on our beds the entire time. There was iron or iron board in the room one of the staff members bought us a iron upon request but told us they no longer had iron boards because they were a liability. LOL Now the hotel itself was not all bad the staff was reliable and helped us with things to do since it was our first time in Jamaica. The safe in the room was a little wood box with a key thank god they didn't charge for it. My husband says he saw a large cock roach. I wouldn't be suprised there was a cat roaming around the deck while we were eating. The room included free breakfast and the breakfast was delicious. The view of the sunset on the beach was breathtaking. They need to control the locals approaching you while your on the hotel property. Overall if I was short on cash I would stay here again. But only if I planned on spending most of my time outside of the room.
“it was ok”
hotel it was clean, however I was in a 1 bedroom suite that had the living room turned into a bedroom in addition to the bedroom. there was no other furniture besides the bed,no sofa, chair or table. there were to decks, 1 had a table without chairs, 1 had 1 chair no table. they claimed to have wireless service in their brochure ,available in some rooms but for $12.00/ day.the staff was accomdating,. the food surprisingly good
“The Best Trip Ever”
I have to say that everyone there was very pleasent, didn't need for anything except for more time there.. The bar was awesome and the beach was amazing.. The food was good and the service was great. Our room was cleaned daily with clean towels. Just a wonderful experience.. I will be back!
“wonderful experience!”
This hotel is very comfortable and clean. Staff was outstanding. From Kadesha at the front counter to the rasta cleaning the beach. Couldn't have asked for more. Took our 7 yr old twins and 15 yr old daughter and her best friend. We were well taken care of and our children said Jamaica was better than Disney Land. I felt very safe. The staff was willing to make sure our visit was wonderful and we are already planning our next vacation to this very same hotel.
“"Soon come back"!!!”
Awesome! The girls and I totally relaxed and enjoyed our eight days at Sunset on the Beach. From the greeting we receive from the ladies at the front desk to the staff on the beach, to the bartenders at the bar and the entire wait staff. The resort staff tries to caters to your every need. Having breakfast on the terrace was great and the food is really good. The gift shop was so nice. I still can't believe the price we got to experience paradise. If you are on a budget, I highly recommend this hotel!! We will be back soon!!! Also, take the shuttle to their other hotel Sunset on the Cliffs...the view is just beautiful! The pool was crystal clear and so relaxing!
“Best sunset view on the beach”
Nice hotel not a big "all inclusive" resort. Breakfast was included but it appeared the first three days we were there it was on a first come first serve basis - even though we were going to breakfast a half hour after it started being served. However, we found staff to be friendly and accmodating if you nicely asked for the buffet to be replenished. There were not enough lounge chairs for all guests and the front desk "ran out of beach towels". It sounds like I am complaining however overall the hotel was what we expected. We did not go to Negril to stay on an "all inclusive" resort and the location of this resort is awesome. 5 minute walk to the straw market and right on the beach. The best sunset view on the beach.
“Good for the price!”
The best part about Sunset on the Beach is that you are actually on the beach. The property is located on 7 mile beach. Our check in was uneventful, and quick. the receptionist was courteous and gave us some information on the free shuttle to the cliffs, and made us aware of the breakfast schedule (our price included this meal). Our room was clean, the furnishings somewhat dated, but quite comfortable. The room's A/C was a little loud until we figured out you could only keep it on low but it was enough to cool the room . All in all we had a wonderful 3 nights 4 days. For the price it really was a deal, if you are looking for a 4-5 star hotel this is not for you, but if you are a middle of the road traveler looking for some adventure I totally reccommend it.
“ok beach location”
budget type location but the plus is the location and the food was good
