“Pros and Cons for the lone traveller”

A little deep cleaning on the toilet area is definitely needed-laid back Caribbean cleaning I guess. Otherwise the place is definitely worth the $ paid. Jamaica in general is a little sketchy to go about in by yourself. you will be approached to buy drugs etc... Stay at your hotel.

Area recommendations
Negril was beautiful and I cannot wait to go back. I went before the holiday rush and ij was the ONLY person on the beach, eating etc... frequently. Just how I like it.

“Will go back.”

We enjoy location and this is 3rd time we have stayed there. They do need some work done but the grounds are kept great. Beds are fine and hot water for showers. So all you need when you are on beach all day

“Multiple issues at Negril Beach Club Resort ignored and hidden by staff”

My recent visit to Negril and the beach club resort located on the west end of 7 mile beach was a disappointment for sure. I have been traveling to Jamaica for nearly 20 years and have stayed in several locations. The Beach Club Resort I have stayed at several times and have noticed a decline in overall service upkeep and security. This last vacation ended only this Saturday, December 3, 2011 and has changed my feelings with regard to Negril and especially the Beach Club Resort. I will not be going back anytime soon if ever. A hint of advice…not only lock your doors and windows but jam furniture under the knobs or you may find an unexpected visitor late at night and your belongings just a little bit lighter for the trip home.

“a vacation nightmare!”

first of all I booked this trip 6 mths in advance (ocean view, bottom floor, king bed) when I got there I got a room by the front desk facing bushes, and with 2 dbls. I went to the front desk and they said thats all we have available in a rude way. The room had NO towels, NO light bulbs in the lights, NO remote for the t.v,spiders in the sheets of 1 of the beds, and to top it off full of ants! they got all over our luggage, etc. I told the front desk and they only offered bug spray and said they cant do anything till the next day. So I had to sleep in the room the first night of a 5 night stay. I didnt sleep all night because of the ants/bugs. at 9am some lady comes pounding on the door wanting to see the ants and send sum1 to put in light bulbs. I demanded a new room of what we requested to begin with. They kept telling me to wait! (taking up my whole day) finally moved me to a room with a king bd that also had a NO light in the bthrm and a broken safe! I complained again and they kept telling me "give us a few minutes" then finally came to the room and told us we had to move again! By then it was already 3:30pm (most of our day wasted) they moved us to a 1 bedroom and that too was a 2 double bed and full of mosquitos and when we opened the closet for the safe a lizard ran out! This place was a nightmare! I am still itchy and was bit over 20 times by the mosquitos. I wasted a whole day and the front desk I could tell laughed @ me! we didnt get settled, and showered til 6!

Area recommendations
either go all inclusive on the north end or stay by the cliffs on the west end. Sktay away from the middlw area!
When to go
beginning of December end of November the waether is perfect and not too crowded
Getting around
find a driver that you are comfortable with to negotiate prices (jamaicans pay 85j per ride) so offer 100j. they expect the tourists to pay $5-$20.
What to pack
insect repellent and hydrocortisone cream
Must see

“Just OK - you get what you pay for”

The room was clean, as was the rest of the hotel, but it needs updating. Bathtub enamel was all peeling off - but as I said, it was clean. Rate was good so I didn't feel ripped off. Website said internet was in the rooms; this is not the case. It's only in the lobby. I take my work with me so this was a little inconvenient. I would try another place next time to see if I could find a better fit.

“I won't return”

The standard garden room is very large. The food at the restuarant isn't worth speaking about. The latchnony sliding patio door was already broken when I arricved, so I called the front desk (door was being held closed by a wood plank). They sent maintenance in to survey and try to repair. It was determined that a part must be replaced but they didn't have it. (this was on Saturday) On Sunday night the remote on the TV stopped working. I was told it needed to be reprogramed. When I left th following Saturday that still have not been done. On Thursday the bathroom ceiling above the tub started leaking. Some days when I walked barefoot in my room I could feel sand on the floor, even though the maid had come after I had returned from the beach and left for the day. Won't stay there again

“Not Impressed”

Over all the food at Negril Beach Club Resort is good, the waiters very nice and professional. As far as staying at Negril Beach Club Resort I , will NOT stay again and will NOT recommend it to anyone. As I/my family check in we was told to pay $20.00 deposit for the foom key. We was not told why but, was told you will get the deposit back at check out LOL ok. I don't remember reading this in the contract. We was going to be charge for a room key. The ladies at the reception desk was NOT friendly and especially the ladies working at the mini market store. When you ask them a question the attitude was go to the front desk and ask them very RUDE. I guess you pay for what you get. As far what we paid for we paid to much. Towels everynight we had to tell the reception we need more towels. The beach very nice, glass bottom boat very nice, Ricks Cafe very nice and snorkling fun fun fun :). The 4th of July bufffet dinner very nice Good Job. Some of the huslter on the beach are very aggresive and be careful buying Raggae CD's on the beach. The singing is not good. Purchased your Raggae music at the airiport. Over All Negril Beach Resort needs a Make-Over and a Fix-up God Blessing.

Area recommendations
